What did you do to your TJ today?

This is as silly as hearing a straight dude argue they’d rather suck a wiener than be Fd in the A.

Dems like it both ways. 🤫

Take it from me it is a pitiful experience to be at the local supermarket, parking lot with quite a few Jeeps loaded with ducks, while I remain with a empty pond. I don't get it how these people, like they hate a TJ, won't even part with a frigging one. I mean this is rubber duck territory! You know... like giving a french fry to a hungry seagull begging at McDonalds. I come out from the stores, wishing & hoping for a duck, while my heart sinks as I get closer...

Next month it will be a year since I bought my almost stock TJ and I did a lot of work to it both mechanical & cosmetic. To all you guys who are bombarded with ducks, no matter where you go, please supply some pointers on what I'll have to do next to get a stinking duck on my dash. Have plenty of ducks from family displayed on a garage "duck shelf" so there goes a easy way out. All suggestions, no matter how unpleasant they may seem, will be considered and the expense will be supplied within reason. In case anybody says to install a snorkel I'm going to refrain doing so because there are two Jeeps in my area of NJ and I won't stoop to that level. Here is a picture or two where it stands now...

Leave the ducks for the JK/JL mall crawling crowd. 😆

I managed to get back out to garage today, torqued axle truss u-bolts to spec put on some clamps to hold e-brake cables. Disconnected sway bar temporarily tie wrapped to e-brake cable, torqued shocks lower shock mounts. Arm pivots later, I don’t have sockets for that…yet. Took it out for quick test drive, got it down to a clunk and a little squeak that is driving me nuts. Might be something in my cargo tuffy drawer? The clunk unfortunately is the axle truss pivot bearing. I believe the bearing is still available from FAB-TECH. That truss u-bolts took quite a few turns of the torque wrench to 75ft pounds. Performs much better and quieter in the rear now. So far i like it without sway bar, I will be tearing the rear suspension apart, to replace the truss pivot bearing. All good, I am very great full I was able to be physically able….to wrench on a Jeep today!

About done splicing in my Sony head unit, cleaned up the universal adapter the PO had put in, which left 4 unused wires on the harness side. Illumination wasn’t specified in the 2006 manual so looked in my 03 at the aftermarket radio wiring for reference and was able to cross reference to figure out the brown/orange wire = lamps feed = illumination!

Same over here in NZ… nobody does it or anyone knows about it…
I’m sure if you asked a New Zealand Jeep guy “ can I duck you?” you’d get punched in the face 😂😂

I didn’t know about the duck thing until I got one, I parked next to yellow tj, it was stock and had frilly stuff in it. I have an idea it is a chick Ritual? I like boogie man’s collection. I think i have some of those zombies in a box somewhere. Regardless the duck motivated me to keep moving on.

The weather today is ideal painting weather; sunny, mid 80s, 45% humidity with an occasional breeze.
The lower back section of the cargo hatch release has exposed bare metal, but has not oxidized or rusted.
Scuffed the surfaces with scotch-brite, wiped it down, taped off the area and applied several coats of black trim paint.
Looks so much better....
