Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ engine mounts

What did you do to your TJ today?

Just do it! I pulled my seat out cause welp....im lonely 🄺, Haha šŸ˜†no
But the extra space without the seat comes in handy, the pics of me posting my Dana 30 axle, That axle was once hauled from Moody Tx to my home for a good 2 hours in the back of my lj 😁. What im implying is that the extra space is awesome and with an Lj its even better! Pluss the occupants that used to be backe there on my seat weren't all too comfortable either, Now my spare tire might reside to where the seat was,no too sure yet!
I can rationalize it a million different ways. It's like Googling something.. you keep searching and you'll find what you're looking for, good or bad.

The Tuffy Security Deck would be far more useful than either of the InstaTrunk or the back seat. And camping from the Jeep would be so much easier.

Alright my Hp30 is now ready for leaf spring perches for it to go on my LJ......Jk šŸ˜†
I got the day off cause of newyears day so I've just Chopped&hammered off the brackets to get some more progress on this Dana turdyšŸ˜†

Gotta work on smoothing out the welds that I added from cutting a bit too deep and from the lows that were around the "factory" welds....with that said I'm gonna give myself the excuse to buy a cheap tube sander from Amazon and see how it treats me,I'm kinda done using a diegrinder with a burr&file so the tube sander should help me remove the rust on the tubes and finish off the tubes!

Got my gussets from Barnes cut out and they seem to fit up nicely😁 Now i gotta wait for my truss from Ruff stuff specialties since that's been ordered, need to buy the control arm/spring perch combo brackets from ballistic fab.

Thankfully home depot is open on newyears day,so I got some Pvc added some sandpaper that has an adhesive back (forgot where I got it from)

And I used this little contraption with a drill on the inside of the axle tubes,I wish I took a picture before sanding but it did a decent job and smoothed out the scale in ther. Just need to get some 60 grit sandpaper cause this 180 grit ain't gonna cut it....

The scale In there was pretty bad but using that pvc tool helped 😁

Also,I saw this clean example of a BMW E34 at home depot, It's a beautiful car man šŸ™‚

Ever notice how the grill on a BMW looks like butt cheeks?

Google drill bit extension and flap wheel. Wire brush wheel could also help. The courser the grit the better followed by rust converter paint

I'm thinking of POR15 and their "Metal prep" since it's etches the metal and leaves a zinc coatin,Than and their paint! I'll see😁

New upper summit seat foam. I’ve been using a pre-production sample since June but it’s finally available to the public. It fits and feels just as good as the replacement lowers. I’ll work on a how to, but if you did lowers, you can do the uppers. On the 96-02 I didn't need to remove the seats

Sort of. You have to attach a wire to a ground spot after they are installed. I put a nut and washer on the back of the bold that holds them on to ground them.
Awesome. I keep dealing with grounding issues with my tails, probably partially to the dumb cage thingies it came with. This would probably be a nice way to fix that permanently

The instructions just said to ground them somewhere. I didn't want to drill another hole.

Finally getting back to some more Jeep stuff. I’ve had this head sitting around since my last rebuild so I figured I’d go over it while it’s cold outside and I’m bored inside. I took the lifters apart and cleaned them and inspected them last week, so tonight I started working on lapping the old valves and cleaning up the head. Maybe when spring hits I’ll try to get this engine reassembled with some fresh pistons and bearings. I need to measure the cylinders so I can determine if it needs to go to the machine shop or not but everything looked good when I tore it apart.
