Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ engine mounts

What did you do to your TJ today?

Wolfbox camera installed in the rear. The TJ also is loosing weight today. Trying to decide how I'm going to mount my Packout storage. I can't decide on a small slide to put off to 1 side. The sub and amp are going back in where it was on the driver side rear. The slide would give me easy access and allow for a cooler behind the driver seat.

Fire extinguisher is going somewhere else, just got to figure out where.

Interesting location for the camera. I ended up making a bracket and mounting it on the defroster vent, but then I have a hard top.

Drove to the Dollar store, didn't really feel like it, but hey!!!!!!

Needed PowerAide and Needed to get out of the freaking house......

Still have a lingering cough, no energy, ears probably still have fluid in them because I'm woosy feeling when I stand.....

But was fixing to go stir crazy looking at the walls.

Jeep is running awesome!!!!!

I have a hard top as well, but it doesn't have a defroster vent. I may move it up to the top bar on the cage if I don't like the view here when I get it out of the garage. It is very close to what I see in the mirror if I turn the screen off. I wanted to protect it from trail damage.

Several years back I went to 1 oil change a year in the spring. It usually comes out to about 5k miles. One year slightly more, a few years a little less. I also grease all the zerks and rotate the tires. I’ve used Valvoline High Mileage 10w-30 and either a MOPAR or Pureolator filter since I’ve had the Jeep.

5 or 6 years ago I stated doing the Blackstone Labs analysis and have had good test results every year. I had never done one of those until getting this Jeep. They are pretty interesting.

Same here. Annual oil change and rotation + Blackstone. I average around 3,500mi a year and last years report had everything in spec.

This one will get to that mileage when I find another TJ/LJ to make into a fun family summer & daily driver. Right now I'm pushing 12-15k a year with it.

Hmm I only average 400 miles a week, if i drove the Rubicon every day!

Since I've been driving the 2000 F150 and will keep on driving it, I'm hoping to get my oil changes to 1-2 times a year.

I work from home, when I'm not traveling. I also drive the kid to school and back everyday. My commute is usually to the airport and back (100 miles round trip) 7-8 times a month.

Wish I could commit to taking the back seat out. It's been used less than ten times since I bought the TJ. Totally a mental thing. The day I commit is the day before the day I'll need it.
Camping would be so much easier if I replaced it with a Tuffy Surity Deck...

I love seeing the TJ get used for work stuff too. Clearing 4 dead trees on a hill.

Much cleaner looking, can't help a good before and after

I know exactly what you mean-

It is the craziest thing. Hard to bring yourself to do it.

Almost like you’re about to cut the frame shorter or something-

To me it just feels like the jeep is incomplete with no rear seat- Even though it is obvious it is much more functional to use the space without it.

less than a month after I bought my TJ in 2018 my 19 yr old son wanted to drive it on our way out to eat. Being the gentleman that I claim to be, I said, "Sure I'll just climb in the back so your mom can ride shotgun."

Being 6' 1" and 240 lbs at the time I was hardly shaped like a beach ball but getting in and out twice was far from easy so the rear seat and everything associated with it was removed that weekend.

FWIW, today I'm hovering just over (220 lbs after these holidays (y)(y)) and have no intention of reinstalling that seat.

I have been doing some paint correction,
I’m breaking it up into sections did the grill, front fenders a few weeks ago
Did the cowls and windshield frame this morning
IMG_2218.jpeg

Cleaned up real well for paint that is nearly 27 years old

Stripped old sealant with simple green extreme
Clay bar
3 inch da buffer with cutting / polish compound
Then turtle wax ceramic sealant

Good analogy.

One of the first mods I did was an InstaTrunk (and an undersea concealed carry draw) since I am full time with a soft top. Though it adds a little bit of security, it really doesn't hold all that much and it's a PITA to lift camping gear over.

Alright my Hp30 is now ready for leaf spring perches for it to go on my LJ......Jk 😆
I got the day off cause of newyears day so I've just Chopped&hammered off the brackets to get some more progress on this Dana turdy😆

Gotta work on smoothing out the welds that I added from cutting a bit too deep and from the lows that were around the "factory" welds....with that said I'm gonna give myself the excuse to buy a cheap tube sander from Amazon and see how it treats me,I'm kinda done using a diegrinder with a burr&file so the tube sander should help me remove the rust on the tubes and finish off the tubes!

Got my gussets from Barnes cut out and they seem to fit up nicely😁 Now i gotta wait for my truss from Ruff stuff specialties since that's been ordered, need to buy the control arm/spring perch combo brackets from ballistic fab.

Thankfully home depot is open on newyears day,so I got some Pvc added some sandpaper that has an adhesive back (forgot where I got it from)

And I used this little contraption with a drill on the inside of the axle tubes,I wish I took a picture before sanding but it did a decent job and smoothed out the scale in ther. Just need to get some 60 grit sandpaper cause this 180 grit ain't gonna cut it....

The scale In there was pretty bad but using that pvc tool helped 😁

Also,I saw this clean example of a BMW E34 at home depot, It's a beautiful car man 🙂

Just do it! I pulled my seat out cause welp....im lonely 🥺, Haha 😆no
But the extra space without the seat comes in handy, the pics of me posting my Dana 30 axle, That axle was once hauled from Moody Tx to my home for a good 2 hours in the back of my lj 😁. What im implying is that the extra space is awesome and with an Lj its even better! Pluss the occupants that used to be backe there on my seat weren't all too comfortable either, Now my spare tire might reside to where the seat was,no too sure yet!
