I swapped rubicon axles in my tj sport and have the oem air compressors i was looking to run them to separate switches. I was wondering do i just wire the compressors or do i have run wires to the axle too?

No wiring needs to go to the axles. Just wire up a simple circuit with good quality heavy-duty on-off switch protected by a 5 amp fuse to control each compressor. It's no more complex than wiring up a light bulb. The compressor will automatically shut itself off when the required pressure is achieved. If there's an air leak the compressor will turn back on automatically.

Below are the switches I used. I only specify "heavy duty" for the on-off switches so they'll be reliable, not that the circuit has much current/amperes in it. The other photo is how I installed the factory compressors onto the driver's side fender well.
