Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ engine mounts

What did you do to your TJ today?

Installed my new winch and Steinjager rear sway bar. I know I'll lose a little articulation off road, but it handles much better on the street and I like to go fast around corners in the dirt too.

Yesterday on the son's 01; he cleaned up the interior quite a bit while I re-strung the driver's seat springs. We went to take it for a test drive but he realized we hooked the t case linkage wrong. Dropped the skid, re-linked, skid back up. On his way!! No leaks we can see an the junkyard tranny works just fine!! Next up, some frame, body mount and floor welding then hopefully off to the inspection station.
On a side note, seems a bit squirrely side to side while driving. going to go through all the front and rear suspension and make sure everything is good

Technically this was Saturday...I let all of the smoke out of my recently warranty swapped Warn M8000 winch motor. Second motor too...3 pulls with load and they die. Ordered a 9.5 XP while I wait for Warn. I ended up using traction boards, a floor jack and a shovel and was out until 11 pm digging myself out without a winch. Four complete turtles and four dig all the snow out from under the Jeep.

Went back up Patterson Mt Rd.

Debeaded a tire. Cooked another M8000 winch motor. Warranty replacements are good for two or three pulls and smoke. Glad I bought recovery boards...ended up digging myself out of a hard turtle... completely under the Jeep...four times and using the boards to launch me down the trail.

Maybe you need a snatch block or two and double or triple the line pull. Just saying...

Was careful to do first or second layer pulls and observe duty cycles. I have three rings... probably right that I could have rigged straps and pulleys for a double or triple line pull. Also was using traction boards as ramps...pulling the Jeep up the ramp instead of into a pile of snow.

All good advice!

Found out the nut bracket is bent, it was stripped too….previous owner stuff is fun to fix. Guess it’s new wind shield frame time….unless I take the hinge off, cut a hole, weld it up? Sounds like a lot of work lol

Finished slider install and quick run around the block. Wheeling trip this weekend after a work trip to LA/SF. Red eye back Thursday night then pack and leave Friday afternoon. Going to be a wild week.

After this trip, a tear down begins for some long awaited upgrades.
