Wildman's TJ is getting a face lift

I went to put air into the tires and kept having leak … I spent an HOUR messing around with the tire and rim trying to find the leak … realized I hadn't looked at the Rapid Air valve stem ... Sure enough damn think was OPEN and it was my huge air leak.

I almost feel bad for laughing so hard my wife asked if something was wrong. Is just that sounds like something I would totally do.

If you can't laugh at yourself then what's the point? Believe me I was doing a huge DUH! at the time.

No tire today. But I've been distracted by white stuff falling out of the sky.

And like the dumbass that I am I hadn't swapped engines on my snowblower yet.
And of course things aren't going smoothly.

But I did get the new TV cable bracket today.
I clearanced it for the shifter cable and it works.

Cross that off.

I wouldn't agree with the snow part. But yes it is until you have to drive in it.
I love rolling the rig out in the white stuff. You may remember early this year In Nashville we had one of the largest snow fall events in recent history. It was cold, for an extended time. Streets were covered for quite a few days, and the snow stuck around for weeks. Winter wonderland...

...and my damned rig was sitting in the shop getting a 14 bolt.

Yes I love playing in the snow with my rig too. It's been way to long since I've gotten to.

I'd ordered new side plates for the Sidewinder shifter.
I'll never understand why they put their product sticker tags on the outside of a product.

Now I've got to clean this sticky stuff off. Plus I'm disappointed that they don't come with the Sidewinder sticker on them. Doesn’t mean I'll go to the trouble of getting them though.

If you haven't already pulled the sticker off the second one use a heat gun (or my personal favorite a lighter🤪) and warm up the sticker and when you peel the sticker off it will (should) take the majority if not all the glue with it.

Nope already took it off. I've got Goop Off for this time of stuff but there was a flat area on the back they could have put the sticker.

To answer the questions if these new tires are going to clear or not.

20211214_220436.jpg

At full droop on the drivers side and full stuff on the passenger side.

Then full lock to drivers.

20211214_220712.jpg

And yes it spins without any rub or hitting.

20211214_220728.jpg

Plus doesn't rub on the spring tower like the other tires did. And the tire doesn't hit the frame.

The only thing I won't know until I get the frame painted is if it will contact the SwayLoc.

Then no rubbing when turned full lock to the passenger. No clearance issues on the rear of the fender.

Trail jam this year was in July i believe. But either way good luck!

I thought it was in April. But you're close enough that we'll have to get together when I'm ready for a shakedown run. I'm sure @B00mb00m and @JMT might want to go along also. Plus @DaveF and others from the PNW.

I didn't read past the first page but from that it looked like it was the last week of April.

I might be going to Moab later in the year. My sons BIL turns 40 in 2022 and wants to have a birthday wheeling trip to Moab but I think it's in Sept or Oct.

I been trying to do some more research about the Cadillac calipers with the built-in parking brakes and was reading their installation instructions for them. I'm wondering from reading these how many of the people who had complaints about them not working or holding well didn't install them correctly.

Here are the PDF installation instructions that RuffStuff supplies.
