I'm with @Wildman on this one as it is kinda my biggest concern looking at new transmission options. If its going to hang lower than the stock skid which is already low then there has to be a better option elsewhere as far as strength and gear ratios for the packaging.

Well after a few months (maybe longer idk) I'm back. Since i was last here trying to diagnose my 4.0 and its vanishing coolant issues i acquired a cool little diesel, trans adapter and a few other assorted bits. Having a few parts does not however mean i know exactly what to use for everything...

next time you're out with a group grab your tape measure and a notepad. take some quick measurements of a few centersections if you can; not just from centerline down but from centerline up, overall width of the pumpkin and any others that would help you compare. see if you can get a 14 bolt...

i think the biggest issue with a front 14 bolt in a tj is just how massive the casting is. you'd limit your uptravel just due to the mammoth nature of the center section, it is stupid heavy, and unless you're running 42"+ tires with significant hp there are better options such as the high pinion...
