I changed my wheel seals in my front Dana 30 this weekend and both sides are already leaking worse than what they were. Any ideas? I used a seal press tool to set the seals back flush. Should I have kept going till it stopped?

When you guys have replaced these seals and set them in place did you press them in till they stopped? I went till they were flush on the outside. You could probably tell what I'm talking about by the first picture.

Hmm I smeared RTV around the edges of the seal when I put it in. When you say the axle retainer bracket seats them at the correct depth do you mean they get pressed back till they stop? I would be interested what kind of seal Mrblaine suggests. I looked around them forum and it seemed most people were a fan of the Mopar original seal so that's what i tried to go with. Thanks for your comment Jerry.

The axle retainer bracket seats them at the correct depth. I have had to resort to smearing a thin layer of RTV made for gear lube, like Mopar RTV or Permatex Gear Lube RTV around the outer sealing edge of the seal but @mrblaine can give you the name/number of a good seal that works well there. I don't believe he has any problems with it sealing.
His issue is on the front, Jerry. I think you are referring to the rear.

Damn guys I'd say that's it! I bought it because it said Dana 30. I should have checked which Dana 30 it was meant for. My google search now says that's for the 07-12 Jk Dana 30. Must be a slight difference!
