I'm looking to replace my hard brake lines and decided to make my own. a few questions...

Is there any reason the proportioning valve cannot be relocated to the frame?

One the front axle... Is there any reason I cannot run two -6AN lines along the upper 3 link control arm, then hard lines down to the end axle tubes. Then a short section of flex hose to the calipers?

This is all purely for aesthetics. I want to clean up the firewall

No, but it is far easier to run a hard line over to the firewall and down to the lip right above the upper control arm.

Holy crap, how much brake fluid do you need to move? -3 is more than plenty. I run the hardline above, then convert to a single SS braided flex hose, take it down the upper on the outside and upper portion to keep it away from the exhaust. Once it gets to the diff, that connects to an AN Bulkhead Tee. From that I take hard lines over to Bulkhead 90's, straights, or 45's to short AN flex hoses. From each of those the flex hoses go to banjo adapters.

LOL, I meant -3AN.
Thanks for the help, this is exactly what I wanted to know.

The rear port on the combo valve is just a Tee. Just plug off one of them with a port plug and take a single hardline down the firewall. You need something to mount the end to the firewall lip. You can use a bulkhead connector or one of the frame adapters that pop into the common clips everyone uses. Bulkhead is -3 male on both ends, frame adapter is -3 male x 3/16 inverted flare typically.
I prefer a 90 or a 45 to get the flex line pointed down the arm. Or you can do a straight and get a 90 made onto the end of the flex line.

That was my next question. Again much thanks

One last question... Is there any reason the entire brake line system can't be made from -AN?

Sortof. You'll need to convert the ports out of the combo valve to AN which can be painful to find. I leave everything inverted flare until it heads off the tub or frame at the back. I use one of the frame adapters like most use there to go from inverted flare to AN and then AN all the way to the banjos. Put another way, I convert to AN as soon as possible and take that out to the end.
