What did you do to your TJ today?

I finally replaced that bad O2 sensor. Not seeing a check engine light on my dash anymore is so satisfying.

LIGHTED CUPHOLDERS!!!!A FORUM FIRST !!! yes , yeah baby!!!

@Zorba here ya go. Check out the technological marvel I've turned my TJ into.

....living on the cutting edge. 10/31/2020 AndyG breaks the barrier and brings the TJ interior into the modern era. Boldly.

@Chris, make sure I'm in the books with John Currie and others.😄😄
do they heat or cool your drink?

The Hulk only came with one key when I bought it back in March, and there were lots of more pressing issues to be fixed before getting a spare made. However, finally got down to that point in the "to do" list.
Bought 2 blank grey keys with JEEP embossed on them off eBay ($17 shipped), and off to ACE hardware we go to get them both cut, and 1 programmed. I want to program the second new one myself, to make sure I can. Had to chuckle when the kid at the store said "I'll do it, but only because the manager isn't here. He's a stickler about liability."
20 minutes and $15 later, I now have 3 keys, 2 of which work and the 3rd I will be programming after dinner. Cheap fun!

Took an evening drive after some heavy rain during the day....great sunset but difficult to find a decent place to get my Jeep in front of it... lol....sorry about the quality my old Iphone4 hasn't given up the ghost just yet !! lol

Round 2 of trim painting today.

Today went much better thanks to yesterday’s advice from @scottgraham and @AndyG. Got some grease and wax remover and more sand paper. Started with my mirrors that were also showing the fisheye issue. Sanded with 220, 400, cleaned with simple green, then with grease and wax remover. Put on some gloves, hit it with the g&w remover and then a tack cloth. Three coats of SEM trim black and this was the result:

It’s not perfect, but holy shit, it’s the best painting I’ve ever done by a mile. I was so geeked I ran in the house like a little kid to show my wife.

Still have some more sanding to do on my sail panels, but should be able to finish up before I get the Jeep back later this week.

Sail panels are the little triangle in the door near the mirror? My Jeep has very little sun fade but those suckers are horrible.

That looks fantastic! I saw where someone got their sail panels out but I still can’t figure out how to get mine out. I would love to get them repainted.

They are held in with a couple of screws on the front edge of the door frame. If you roll the weather stripping back a bit you should be able to see them. You’ll also need to pull the window channel out and then they just lift out.

So the stripping between the painted frame and sail? Not between the sail and where the window rolls up?
