With the onset of good weather coming (eventually, anyway), does anyone have any recommendations for mirrors when I take the doors off? I'd prefer the ones that mount "in to" the hinges. (unless there is something inherently wrong with this design)

I got the quadratec mirrors that go into the door hinge and bolts on just like you would your door. I got the rectangular ones but they have little round ones too. I like the rectangular because you can see more with them. Only draw back is they vibrate while driving. They're functional but the vibrating makes things blurry. Stop lights, etc they're fine. They look good too. I'd recommend. I think about $30 or less. Too lazy to include a link....

We are just coming out of our summer here I was tempted to get some but I heard that some whistle and fold back at highway speeds. So held off buying.....mmm next summer me thinks lol

First time I put them on. Headed out going about 50 mph- oncoming Jeep - preparing for epic Jeep waive when the driver mirror slams back and nails me right in the knuckles! Scared the be-jesus out of me! And didn't feel very cool anymore.... it comeshould with 2 metal and 2 nylon washers. I crank it tight enough that the nylons are smashed down good. No issues since.

I must admit I like the rectangular ones better than the smaller circular mirrors...

I've seen the ones you are talking about, just wondered how much they vibrate.
I have considered the Quick detach type as well as the "factory" relocating kit, but have read reviews where you can't see out of the passenger side because these move the mirror too far forward.

I have the quick detach kind, but went to Home Depot and bought an M10-1.25 hex head bolt for each one so I can bolt them into the brackets I bought rather than using the quick hand turn knob type bolts it came with.
A. They hurt my hand trying to get them tight
B. They would occasionally fold back at highways speeds due to not being tight enough.

Problem solved with the new bolts.

I was not a fan of anything in my hinges because it seemed that they were always unstable, shaky at highway speeds or off-road.

So I got these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000FQ95IC/?tag=wranglerorg-20

They reuse the existing mirrors from the doors and put them in a good spot, so you always have a solid mirror.
Can you see your passenger side mirror clearly though ?.. I heard that with a half doors it difficult to see it

I would think with "half doors" you could just relocate the mirrors directly to the half doors...
Though I think your referring to the "uppers" specifically too in not being able to see the passenger side mirror, which might be the case, but I thought the OP was talking about a no-door situation here?

Yes sorry EJD I was talking about the uppers and also yes with no doors it will be fine.....For my own purpose though I was hoping to just leave the mirrors on there relocation brackets all year round, but I'm guessing that won't work in my case.
