Open the box. It's misleading.Umm, maybe not. I just looked at the pic and these are RS9000. I ordered the 5000X. Dangit. Now I got to do a return. Ugggghh.
99% chance you actually DO have rs5000x shocks

If you haven’t done them before take your time on the rear uppers. PB blast the bolts for a few days prior and use a swivel socket so you don’t strip or break the bolts.
The box is misleading I thought they sent rs9000 when mine came in.These are the part numbers and they match what was in the amazon add.

The shocks match the part number on the box.

I was able to get 3 out of 4 out fairly easily. The 4th I rushed and broke it off. Ended up air chiseling the bolt head off after pulling fender liner. Took forever but ended up ok.Ok, I'll start PBing them today and again tomorrow, until I can get to actually doing them.![]()

Use Kroil - far superior to PB Blaster.Ok, I'll start PBing them today and again tomorrow, until I can get to actually doing them.![]()

Must be nice to not have to deal with rust like we have here in Michigan. First pic is before I started my POR-15 project to protect my frame. Second is obviously after. My rear shock bolts all snapped like twigs and I didn’t have the patients to spend countless hours breaking more bolts when I was doing it last winter when we had a polar vortex of below temps for a few weeks. The garage was heated but let’s face it, a propane heater only works so well when it’s zero or colder outside!Took me about 1.5 hour to replace all 4. But I don’t live in a salt area.
