How precise do you need to be drilling the holes? I’m probably overthinking this but I was born that way.![]()
loosen body mount bolts , jack body up 3/8s inch or so, slide them in, lower body and tap step in snug with a rubber mallet. Center the drill in the holes on the step. very easy install. Took me about and hour. If you like them, get them. Screw the nay sayers. How precise do you need to be drilling the holes? I’m probably overthinking this but I was born that way.![]()
My jeep is a 2000 that spent its life in new england, I had no issuesIf you want to overthink where it actually matters, figure out how to install these without chopping up the body mounts.

That would actually be quite easy to do if it is necessary. Just not sure that its necessary.

There are other ways to compensate without cutting the mounts. My question is...should the other body mounts be adjusted for the 3/16” added to the four where the rocker guard is mounted.
Fill in the gap between the faux-slider/useless step and the body mount seat in the tub. Then find a body mount spacer that is thick enough to let the other 7 mounts do their job.
Or you can cut out the section that ties into the body mounts. Then figure out where else to attach the faux-slider/useless step to the tub.
The best option is to find a different design.
I get it. You don’t like these. Fine. Don’t use them. They aren’t for you. Not everyone uses their Jeep the same way. You might be a hardcore rock climber. I’m not. I have no interest in rock climbing. Thanks for the help though.
Good to know.I don't like them for a daily driver ice cream getter with the grandkids Jeep either. Bad design is bad design.

I've got one thing to say, your a loserSounds like either the frame or the tub is no longer straight if you didn't do anything to address the body mounts.
Nothing else needs to be done to the other spacers. Ignore Mr know it allI get it. You don’t like these. Fine. Don’t use them. They aren’t for you. Not everyone uses their Jeep the same way.
