What did you do to your TJ today?

I replaced the stereo and the circa-2000 OEM paper speakers with some cheap replacements from Crutchfield. I’ve had better, but there was zero sound before.

Pulled my front diff carrier out again. when I installed the locker a couple months ago I made the decision to reuse the old axle seals because they looked good and I forgot to get new ones beforehand. Yes, I know better. Guess what started leaking?

I took her to the shop to figure out the noise in the drivetrain. Turns out its bearings in the transmission. Now I'm shopping for an AX15 to replace the NV3550 that shat the bed.

Took it to an upholstery shop where they will mend a tear in the drivers seat but more importantly, they are removing the original fabric seat covers which are in great condition and hand washing them along with the seat foam to try and remove 20 years of odor.

I finally busted out the 3 broke rear upper shock bolts...what a pain in the ass, I am glad I had a inline electric grinder with cutoff wheels and an air chisel...I also installed new rivnuts in the front left fender so I was able to install a beat up fender flare. I also got the nuts I needed to install the marker light. Now I need to install my new control arms, rear sway bar links and decide what I am going to do for shocks. Then it is off to get the frame straightened and a wheel alignment. There is still so much to do before I trust this thing to go traipsing across the desert...eventually a body lift, tummy tuck, atlas, good bumpers and 44's with elockers. Tim

Oh and I swapped the tires over to different rims so they will clearance better...

So got engine check light on a while back I forgot what codes but was due to O2 sensors, replaced them all. Just got a new engine code P2096 well To find out that my cat has a small whole where I can feel exhausts air coming out right before 1/2 sensor when I was inspecting i concluded that he PO some how had the cats come loose and fall out hitting front drive shaft causing the crack. Funny thing before I got the original engine light it passed smog lol but didn’t have a check engine light back then.

Well since I’m replacing cats might as well put a new exhaust and do oil pan gasket with rear main bearing. So prep day today while parts arrive.

Question on the brace to get to the bearing are all the bolts torqued down the same as the bearing itself? 80ft lbs or is the brace different torque?

Went with eastern catalytic and MBRP exhaust. Sorry for the long essay 😎
Oh hardest part was taking exhaust out from back and FYI you don’t need to disconnect from shaft to take out cats only cut them off. Internally cats were fine.

I hate people... I came out of the grocery store today and found a huge scrape all the way a crossed the rear driver fender, with lots of yellow paint...luckily it looks like only paint damage.
I hate that too...hope it buffs out

Today was the first step in installing rear recovery hooks. I've installed a tow hitch so had to do a little some extra drilling.

I simply scored the hitch plate with a metal pick from the inside of the frame to give the area I needed to drill.

Uninstalled the tow hitch. Drilled out the first hole so it would line up with the stock frame hole. Put it back on now just need to drill the last hole.
