Hitch mounted bike rack?

I am about to pull the trigger on a Swagman Sitkka 2 rack.

I have a fat beach cruiser and a regular beach cruiser. This rack will hold both bikes without a mounting on the frame. The only issue is when not in use I cannot fold it up because of the spare tire.

I am curious if anybody else is hauling a fat bike, and regular bike on a TJ in the receiver, and if so, what are you using?

I use a el cheapo Curt 2 bike carrier, receiver hitch mounted. It works ok I guess.

I have the swagman 4 bike carrier and a hitch extension they sell to clear my 33” spare....it was a little less than the 2 bike carrier and way easier to operate ...folds vertical when not in use.

@ac_ Check out 1up-USA. Best bike racks on the market. The bike rack swivels with the bike on the Jeep and I can open my tailgate with the spare tire . They make many models. You can buy like I did and add an extension for the 2nd bike later. You can also get locks from them that secure the bike very nicely. I really love my setup. Just bought an extension for a 2nd bike.

Chris I can easily add another bike. I just got the extension setup actually for the upcoming season.

I use a Tow bar extender on mine it gets out pass the 31' tyre on the back..it will hold 2 full size mountain bikes and a slightly smaller one.

That does look pretty bad ass, but I would need to call to see if what I need to make it fit my bike since it is odd shaped and sized. It is double the cost of what I am looking at plus I will need accessories on top of that. I like having options though, I will give them a call tomorrow, and see if they can accommodate my bikes.

Their racks fit pretty much any bike out there. They have very good customer service as well. Talk to them, they should be able to help you out. It's expensive, yes, but it's the only bike rack you'll need for a very long time. The ease of use (simply mount the bike, lock and go) is simply awesome. I've had many other type of racks and this has been by far been my favorite. 3 other people in the biking club In part of bought their own after they saw mine in person last summer.

Let's us know what you end up with even if it's not this one.

I found a used Kuat on Craigslist some time back. It's a great receiver-style rack, just had to get an extension to get past the spare.

The hitch is long enough to clear my 33x12.5 spare out of the box. It folds up easily and lowers down at an angle but WILL NOT allow my tailgate on the Jeep to open. It does work on our Yukon. Other than that I love it.

I'm not familiar with either of those types of bikes that you mentioned, but I understand "fat tire". I'm sure this Yakima rack could be modified to work if needed. The bikes are held down by a clamp over the front tire (similar to the one that JMT posted above and a strap on the rear tire.

I can fold that rack upward when the bikes are off of it and it clears the 33" spare.

it is the type of carrier that the bike hangs from the crossbar and the wheels hang down...what I liked was you had more capacity Plus you could spread the bikes out..I will do my best to look at the model number when I get home this evening and post it.

I've seen those type bicycles but I'm not familiar with what you can and can't do hauling them .. I felt like I just got more for the money and had a much much simpler set up.

I like that one. My wife and I just picked up a couple of bikes with 4" wide tires.
