Blower quit working about 2 months ago. I had already replaced the speed switch when I bought it, since it didn't work on high, or something like that. Lol, I've fixed so much stuff on this thing that I've forgotten some of what I'd done. Anyway, I knew it wasn't the speed switch, so had to be something else. Found the mode switch connector melted. Decided to blitz the whole system and replace the motor, resistor, mode selector, pigtail for the electrical portion of the mode switch, and put relays in each speed of the fan speed and also a cutout for the whole fan circuit. I want to be able to select dash or floor, etc., without powering up the fan. I don't like the fact that the fan has to be on, when anything other than "off" is selected. I've been driving around for the last month with wires and switches hanging out of the dash in a bandaid fashion. Finally jumped on it this morning and got it done.

What was holding me up, was a good place to put 4 relays. Found a perfect spot above the glove box and below the airbag. Mounted them to the dash frame. Easy to get to if there is a problem.

Totally not visible from glove box opening.

All wired up now, nice and neat.

Ebay "ON" switch for the circuit cutout. Since the factory hvac switches are now low miliamp triggers, I can use the less than robust ebay switch to interrupt the signal from the mode switch to the fan speed switch, and use the panel or floor position as a vent and not have the blower running. Save some wear and tear on the whole system that way.
Oh, forgot, but I put a marine-grade 12v power point in place of the broken factory cigarette lighter socket.
