Yes, they're tunable and rebuildable too, part of the reason I think they're worth the money.
Savvy sells a generic tune. I'm not sure, but I thought that I have read that the standard Fox tune is on the harsh side.

I can either go with Bilstein 5125s, or I can go with Fox Performance Reservoir shocks. None of these are TJ specific, as both of those shocks are only sold off numbers (travel, collapse length, extended length, etc.).
The advantage to the Fox shocks would be that they're rebuildable, and there's a lot of people who can tune them very well, so I could get a TJ specific tune (though that wouldn't be until down the road).
I didn't realize Savvy sold them. I'll have to check out their website or call them and see. I would like a set of them with a TJ tune if possible. The Bilstein shocks are a lot cheaper (A LOT), but the Fox shocks being rebuildable and tunable kind of makes them worth the extra cost.
Yep, that's the guy Dave was telling me about. He said he can tune them as well and make them ride really nice. One more reason the Fox shocks get my vote. Dave said he only uses the Bilstein 5125s most of the time because they are like $75 a shock, and most people don't want to spend $1000 on shocks right away, which I get.
A TJ baseline would at least be a good starting point. How many TJ's do you know run a 11", 12" travel shock? Just saying.
Very few. But I know for certain that 12" will work in the rear. That's what Dave said, but it's also what I've read pretty much everywhere else on the internet from people who have done it.
This is of course one of the benefits of outboarding.

Yep, I thought so. I'm talking to Paul from FullStack Motorsports, and he confirmed that a 11" front and 12" rear is what I want, though a 12" front would work, it would just require about 1/2" of shock showing at full bump.
Okay, good news. Just spent the last 45 minutes talking to Paul Coplin of FullStack Motorsports (turns out that he doesn't live that far from me). He's going to order me a set of Fox 2.0 Factory Series Performance Reservoir Shocks and he said with the shocks he will include his TJ specific tune, which also includes a free "re-tune" incase I get them on and don't like them.
Apparently his TJ is running almost the exact same setup as mine, so he was a huge help. I cringe at the price of these shocks, but I really like that they are aluminum, they can be rebuilt when necessary, and they can be tuned specifically to the vehicle. I'd mentioned to him about wanting a nicer ride, and he said yes, he can indeed tune them a bit softer as oppose to more harsh, which is how they ride off-the-shelf.
That completes the parts I need for the mid-arm install. Now let's see how long it takes them to install it. The guy at the shop seemed optimistic it would take around 15 hours (and therefore $1500 in labor), but I remain skeptical that it will be that cheap. I was thinking more like $2000 in labor.
We'll find out!

Haha... I cringe even more knowing how much I've sunk into this thing. My wife said the other day, "Are you going to sell the Jeep now that we're having a third child?".
I laughed and told her that there is no way that that Jeep is EVER going to be sold. I said they can take turns riding in it, because that thing is pretty much my biggest passion.
