Wild , I have never seen that happen ! , lucky you . Question ? why did you feel it necessary to use red Loctite on your valve stem caps ! :p
I truly hope your week goes better Cheesy !!!

Dog, I hope so. Crown came out last night at the hockey game. Took the Renegade in for new tires and the tire guys couldn't get the lug nuts off cuz of rust under the pretty chrome covers. I bought 20 new ones made without the covers. Same thing happened with my eff one fiddy and the LJ. Mrs.Cheesy told me today that she wants a wall opened up between the kitchen and family room. Crap. And it's only Tuesday.

And the only animal I’ve pulled a tennis racket on was a bat that found its way into the house (30 years ago, back in Wisconsin)!

Done that too!

I didn't get anywhere close enough to hit the bear. He took one look and decided he didn't want none! :ROFLMAO: Just gotta get your bluff in. Most of the time...

Just blacks here, and I figure a 9 with 147g +P hardcast fits the bill. Haven't had to use it.

Only weapon I've actually pulled on a bear was a tennis racket :ROFLMAO:

A 9mm, +P or not, is only going to make a griz REALLY, REALLY upset and you ARE going to die. I carried 10mm for a several years but decided even that is a high risk if you only get one shot which is as likely as not.

My first bear repellent was a S&W 29 (44 mag) back in the 60's which got replaced with a more weather resistant 629 version in the 70's. The the Glock 20 came along in the late 90's and lasted until the S&W 329PD made its debut in 2003. I still pack the 329PD, just about every day, loaded with +P 325 FNHC moving at about 1300 f/s. That is the absolute minimum I consider sufficient for griz. I will say the 329PD with those loads is without doubt the most unpleasant thing I have ever fired (and I do have a S&W 500 mag) but that handgun is still the go-to and has been with me for many 1000's of miles in the backcountry which has included one run-in with a grizzly sow and her two second year cubs at about 100'. She had a nice Crimson Trace red dot pasted on her until she decided to make an exit.

That same dot has also been pasted on several black bears and one big kitty but to date, but I have never had to finish squeezing the trigger. All those latter critters have been encountered on my own place.

I've never had to reach for a gun or spray with a black bear. They have always turned tail as soon as they became aware of me. The only grizzly encounter I've had (in the Scapegoat) was not a surprise. We were watching it flip logs looking for critters to eat, and it slowly worked it's way towards us. By the time it got close enough to catch our scent, we were standing, hollering, and had rifle scope crosshairs on the boiler room/noggin. It stood up on hind legs, sniffed the air, saw us, and turned tail. No drama whatsoever. But that doesn't mean my knees weren't shaking. I mean, it was my first up-close-and-personal griz experience. 😬
