Basket's Build

I actually don't know how those are contacting?? This is full stuff at full lock. There's like an inch of clearance

I thought this with my front brake lines until harder trails, I nearly got pulled off pritchett the first time because a lug on my tire somehow caught the hard brake line.

I dont know why your line is routed like that but you could carefully bend that line straight up and then route it along the frame rail

Yeah its routed really weirdly. The other side doesn't really look like that, it goes over the frame rail. I am worried that kink is going to leak if I try to bend it but maybe it's better that happens on the driveway instead of on a trail

I think you are 100% correct about the kink , get a new line and route it in a better way .

I think its supposed to be routed like this:

There looks like enough line that if it did break or split you could cut it, flare it, and reinstall. Not fun but doable.

True.. I was somewhat wondering if now is the time to get a flaring tool and learn how to do that. Not quite sure I want to yet but we'll see I guess

I bought one of the small tube benders at HF and rented a flaring tool. Both tools sucked, but I was only out $10 and got the job done on my rear brake line.

Double flairs can suck to do properly , of course this line is kinda short to bring more fun to the table . Good thing you have the Chevy to go get another brake line...... :)

I had my driver's tire catch my brake line coming down off of Cleveland Rock in the Holy Cross trail. Broke it wide open. That was before trailering. Drove it 40 minutes to Doug's house and he was able to flare it in short order and get me on my way. Flaring a stock line isn't impossible but it does suck.

Well don't leave me hanging... What was your solution?

I haven't fully dealt with it yet beyond moving them closer to the shock tower. My long term plan is to do on the front axle what we do on the rear axle with the midarm: run a single line down the upper to a block that goes to -3an connectors (then soft loops to the calipers).

Ah rear axle style. Always kinda wondered why they weren't done the same

Sounds like for me I might as well just get the stock routing back to how it should be and will be good enough there
