The Saga Continues…

I’ll definitely shop around. Small town Pagosa doesn’t give me a ton of options.

That was with me removing the hood and bringing it to them, no time rush. Just seemed pretty high to me for a hood. I had envisioned something around the $500 mark. Where I got that number from, I don’t know, lol.

Anyways, I managed to get the winch line on and wire up the front turn signals. I’ve been holding onto this phone mount from my JK which was like 10+ jeeps ago. Kept saying I was going to use it, but never did.

Anyone have tips on how to attach the rear bow brackets? I thought I read somewhere that I don’t want to drill holes in the cage tubing. Found measurements on the forum somewhere and double checked them with my father in law’s LJ. I actually stole his as he’ll never remove his hardtop.

I'd drill and tap the location for the brackets. Is this a factory soft top or a BestTop?

It’s a factory top. Is there a difference in terms of the bracket? Plan on putting a Replace A Top from Bestop on. I have one sitting in the box in the corner of the shop.

No, there's not a difference in terms of the bracket. You can attach it however you like, if you don't want to drill/tap you can plug weld it - assuming that the custom cage is in the same spot as the OEM sport bar or you can get it in the "same spot" with some customization.

From my experience yes there is a difference between the stock Jeep brackets and a BestTop Sunrider top. I had to change the bracket.
If you're still using the stock bows with a Replace-A-Top then I don't see how it'd matter for that.

Memory kicked, Rick is right. The bestop one has 3 holes (vertically) so you can adjust the tension by progressing up the holes. The mounting location is otherwise in the same spot. I'd grab a pic but my jeep is in storage this year.

Pretty sure I’ve seen that floating around somewhere.

So this thing doesn’t have the roll bar speaker pods anymore. The stock sub is blown as well.

Contemplating using one of these JBL RallyBars and calling it a day.

Anyone have any thoughts or experience with these? I’ve done a full sound system with amps and subs in all of my jeeps in the past, but it’s not as high priority for me in this one, as it’s going to be primarily a trail rig.

There’s a used one for $700 on Marketplace. Not sure I’d fork out $1100 for a new one.

Yes the mounting holes on the rollbar are in the same spots. If I remember correctly the BestTop bow bracket only has one tab where the stock one has two tabs.

Yep, found my pictures of them.

Here's the BestTop bracket.

And then here's a stock bracket.

This is a bad and obscured picture of mine a couple years ago.

If you need the stock type brackets I thick I've got a set... Of course I couldn't find them 2 years ago when I needed them so I'd bought another set off Ebay.

I just did this with the tailgate bar brackets. Amazon showed up and I promptly found two sets in a box of parts. Thankfully I can return them.
