2004 rubicon 4.0, this hose on the passenger side fire wall inside the engine compartment is constantly dumping what looks like water while my engine is running. I think it’s the the source of water getting into and torching my blower motor resistor. What is it and why is it leaking? If it normal, does it need to be routed and run off somewhere?

Thanks.

Thanks.

It's the a/c condensate drain. Water is normal. Some members have affixed a rubber elbow to direct the water.

Has anyone had issues with their heater resistor going out repeatedly? When I got my Jeep and didn’t have low/medium/high control, I pulled the resistor out and it crumbled into dust. Dropped a new one in, problem came back after 3 months. Took out the resistor and it was full of water. Replaced it again, good to go again. Anyone know the hose size off the top of their head? I’m going to route it away from my bulkhead.

A tired old heater motor may draw a lot more current than it should, cooking the resistor.

According to Jerry B. here, "A good motor typically draws something like 13 amps, bad motors can easily draw 25 amps. The normal startup current can be significantly higher."

Yea, I read about that too. I replaced the blower motor this time as well. Although, the continental replacement doesn’t look as nice as the OEM Bosch.
