OP taking strays from SE Arizona lol.
Some of us like seasons or do better in the hot or cold. Each area has its pros and cons.
I definitely agree. To each their own. I'm very happy with our choice of retirement landing. I'll take my 280+- days of sunshine.

Ditto in some ways. We don't get no 300 days of sunshine, but it is beautiful in WA and the Dems have taken over.
Just a thought,don’t know the workings you and the seller did but with that kind of money,I think I would have not let it leave my site,I would find away to haul it home that day somehow,I wouldn’t trust 30xxx away from me?it’s like contractors,don’t pay them all first,you won’t get anything done usually.

Unfortunately, Arizona is starting to move in that direction. Fortunately, Cochise County is very Republican leaning.
I live equidistant between Lancaster & Delaware, and bonus, we got 6 inches of snow today, so I'll go pick it up & give it a proper shagging just to be sure everything's tip-top
If it's anything like here, the few highly populated counties will mess everything up for the rest of the other ones

Any of you guys who want to go snow wheelin, come on over to the midwest. I don't remember a December like this in a LONG time. I've already had my snowblower out more this month than I did the entirety of last year!

I didn’t think winter could get more depressing than last year for us in the San Juans, but it certainly feels that way right now.
Nothing on the radar for the next 10 days either.
Was in shorts and a t-shirt this afternoon. I’m putting the snow stuff away and getting my climbing stuff back out for the week.

I called and cancelled with him after the driver didn’t show up yesterday in the allotted time frame, but primarily because he wouldn’t bring it past Colorado Springs. Mind you, I used this guy a few weeks ago and everything worked out.
He then texted me a bunch of nonsense before this - but the last round had me laughing pretty good.
Driver still tried to show up the pickup at 11PM is what the seller told me. It’s locked up in the garage - working with Montway again.

It took me a few days to remember the website, but the main website the brokers/dispatchers and truckers use to find vehicles on their routes is centraldispatch.com
Anytime you fire a company, tell them to remove the listing and then verify that it's been removed when you talk to the next company. Otherwise, prospective drivers might not risk driving to get the vehicle...out of fear that the vehicle will be picked up by a different driver/company before they get there. This causes your vehicle to sit longer. This is also why a customer shouldn't try to be sly (scummy) and have multiple companies work for them.
And assuming you used a credit card to secure the listing with a broker/trucker, do a chargeback if they don't return your money in full.

That makes a lot of sense. I wasn’t trying to be sly with multiple brokers. I was trying to find someone quickly after the first guy canceled. Had hoped to line something up in the few days I was there.
I realize now I likely screwed it up more trying to be proactive in trying to find someone while I was there.
No need to defend anything. I simply wrote what I did to help after it started to come back to me. I learned way too much about this industry after a neighbor shipped my truck years ago (he handled the logistics).

Things to know.
Due to the axle width any car hauler driver is going to be picky about loading, unless you can get it on a 3 - 4 car wedge Hot shot, the tires height and width will be an issue for them.
Had a friend ship a JK with 35's on it from Florida to Chattanooga and the driver let all the air out of the tires.
You very well maybe better served by a company like Reliable that hauls cars and trucks for classic car auctions. At least their drivers understand the importance of expensive vehicles.
