Car pics too cool not to share

"Not a bad color," just don't get mad when someone calls it "booger yellow"

Looks alright on this, I think...

Before it became a Hollywood poodle hauler , The G-Wagen W-460 was pretty cool. Here's an 1984 .

These tend to be rare in the part of the US I'm from, which made me wonder if they were actually marketed here back then. Assuming Wikipedia is to be believed, it seems they weren't...

Mercedes-Benz never officially exported the G-Wagen to the United States because it was considered more of a utilitarian vehicle and didn't fit the American perception of what Mercedes-Benz was. During the 1980s, the grey import specialists brought the W460 to the United States and modified them to meet the US regulations. In 1988, the new federal law, Motor Vehicle Safety Compliance Act, closed the loopholes and tightened up the regulations for grey imports, making it more difficult and more expensive for the registered importers to federalise the W460 in a very small number.

Very cool, I'd say, though I'm torn between the long and short wheelbase. I'd take that one as it sits (maybe without the contents) even though it's carrying damage repair.

I will take a painters word on body repair , but I don't see it . The earlier models had a weird front fender crease that later ones didn't have.

I've seen a few throughout the years in the Seattle area, but that's about it for around here.

Back when I was still a member of the Timber Tamers we put on a SUV Jamboree and101 Course over near Rick on the outskirts of Cle Elum.
One year we had a guy bring his $110k G Wagon on the condition we wouldn't let him get any damage. So we cut the brush on the 101 course in the campground way back and did some major brush trimming on the trails we knew he would be taking. On the last full day of the event we had a run for everyone up to one of the lakes in the area. All went great until he decided go rouge and turned off the main trail to follow a couple rigs up a tight trail we had not done any maintenance on.

When we asked him why he decided to take the ungroomed trail, he said because it looked fun. Well he had a point, it was a fun trail but..... Washington pinstriping now streaked down both sides of his G Wagon... He told us not to worry, "they'll take care of it". Evidently when you spend over 6 figures at a Mercedes dealership ever few years they tend go the extra mile to make sure your rig looks brand new no matter what you do to it...

A guy down the street from me has two G wagons in his garage. Must have thought the wife needed one too.

Those G wagons seem to be taking the "Gucci path" around here. I'm seeing them in very particular neighborhoods, sitting in driveways of known rentals. Very trendy, look-at-me bougie mobiles.

Here's one in a neighborhood I'm in and out of every few weeks. This dude has two G wagons now, and a white S class car. The real estate you see there is worth about $250K, so there's that. His life choices impress me. :sneaky:
