I have some 2004 Jeep Wrangler 4.0 auto problems. I was driving yesterday and all the sudden it started violently shaking, so I let off the throttle then got back on and the RPMs would go up, but I wasn’t moving. It felt like the clutch packs were slipping. So I pulled over turned it off, turned it back on, and it was fine for the rest of the day. Come this morning I’m driving it to work and it does the same thing, I’m driving and all the sudden the RPMs start going down like it’s bogging and then I give it more gas and they shoot up and I don’t move. I noticed it starts to do this about five or so minutes after the torque converter locks up. So then I got curious today and I put it to the floor, it was moving with no slipping but then it got to 5000k rpms and it wouldn’t shift and then it started to bog down and thought I heard something rattling. And then I tried flooring it again and it did the same thing. I have a cylinder 3 misfire code now but i only get the code if I scan it while the check engine light is blinking, no codes if it isn’t being scanned while it’s happing. And in park it revs up perfectly fine no sounds from the engine. No sound from the tranny. It has a brand new coil pack and new fluid in the tranny and a filter. I replaced the ETAX relay and in general reran an extra engine, ground and clean the rest of them. I’m leaning towards something electrical. Help
