What did you do to your TJ today?

Took off the front bumper (had to cut one bolt off), sanded rust spots from (apparent) previous light bar and repainted, re-welded nut to frame, and remounted the bumper with new bolts while installing Auxbeam 4 Inch Amber Fog Lights, 60W Square Pod with 5050 LED in lieu of the old crappy square pods (in my profile pic). Also re-threaded a broken sway bar cover bolt and re-installed the cover which has been off for the past 5 months.
First impressions on the Auxbeam spots - brighter then high beam when set forward so I may have to point them downwards somewhat to use as fog lamp (which they are currently wired to). I am planning on getting the KC multi-tab light bar and two 7" chase pods just not sure what to get that is budget friendly. Suggestions are welcome but here are a couple of choices that I narrowed down to:
Auxbeam RAY-L Series 7 Inch
Strands Siberia NR 7 Night Ranger (very limited stock it seams not sure why so a bit leery about ordering these)

Christmas Wishlist choice: KC Gravity® Pro6 LED but money 🤤

How often do y'all change transmission fluid? 42RLE in my '04 LJ.

My commute takes me up and down the local mountains and my transmission temp gauge hits 180-200 every time, so about 2-5 days a week. I have the Derale external transmission cooler installed as well to help alleviate this a bit, especially in summer. Starting to feel like it's not shifting as well under load.

I drop a quart and add a quart every oil change. Seems to keep it fresh.

Just some quick thoughts on fog lights:

  • Fog lights are not meant to be extremely bright
  • Fog lights and driving lights are not the same, regardless of color or wattage. The reflectors/lenses are different in how they direct and disperse light.
  • Fog lights should be mounted 12"-24" from the driving surface, aimed level, to be most effective, I've always tried to keep mine at or below 18", above which the returns diminish.

Did it go out completely? Mine has been going on and off for a while now. Were the links broken or was it bases on experience you knew that was the problem?

It was off/on for about a week, then off altogether. There was a broken solder joint. Saw a YouTube video of this fix., and unfortunatley didn't save the link. It's quite easy to do. Good luck with yours.

I thought it was his homemade power washer. ;)
Hand crank?
Spring is here and summer is just around the corner so time to get my air-conditioning sorted..View attachment 656106

Being somewhat 'down under' as you are, steering wheel on the 'other side', doors hinged at the front, and your tailgate hinged on the right. Does the convertable top fold up above the windshield? 😊 ;)

Love that custom rod holder......... er bike rack!

Thanks… dropped off the Jeep and then had to bike home before I start work…
Hopefully they find the leak in the A/C and can re-gas it with no problems…. Or it could get a bit pricey

Decided to lay out my new Bestop roof in the garage… as the Jeep is getting worked on.
Really pleased to see no Bestop tramp stamp…🥳
Now if I can just time it right and get a day off when the sun is out I can get this thing fitted.View attachment 656119

I'm so sorry you didn't get one with the tramp stamp, now you have to get Bestop tattooed across you lower back instead ;) 🤣 🤣 🤣
