Do drive shafts go bad?

2006 with 64k miles. Felt vibrations over 60mph in the seat and pedals and not the steering wheel. Removed rear drive shaft and no more vibes.
U joints are tight and appear OK.
Buy new shaft or new u joints?

Only real way to know is have the balanced checked. And knowing Chrysler quality I'd doubt it was too close.

Doesn't look like it's been in the rocks...so sure...throw u-joints at it and forget about it for another 20 years.

If there is play on the splined end then replace the shaft. If not, then U-joints are probably bad and you can replace them and reinstall.

I have only drivin it 60 miles since purchased and test drive on rough road

I think my pinion angle is good. Within 1 degree.

Everything feel tight, I will replace joints tonight

Can you pull the yoke on the axle in and out?
Transfercase outout up and down?

Much play when the splined end is on?

It never hurts to pull the front driveshaft and make sure everything is OK because it is really bad news when one of those locks up

This thread reminded me we had a electrician tell us that a wire he had roughed in had gone bad….
