I’m was curious if anyone is running a grill guard like the one pictured below along with a winch plate?

I like the look of the grill guard, but I also want to keep my winch on the vehicle.

Check with the guard maker to make sure there's enough room - most of those bolt where the tow hooks go, so it might work if the winch fits behind it.

Yeah, I know they use the tow hook bolts. I just wasn’t sure about a winch fitting between the center bars. I’ll check with the manufacturer.

For nomenclature purposes I'd consider that a brush bar.

I had something similar on my F250. The headlights reflected off the tubes and made it hard to see at night. Plus the tubes created shadows on the sides...again making it harder to see.

Good to know! I’ve seen online both brush guard and grill guard.

Yeah I haven’t purchased one yet I just kinda liked the look on a TJ.

YSK that brush guards can be dangerous and significantly increase damage in some situations. They can cause wood to spear through the car and into the passenger compartment. They also tend in increase body damage from minor bumps.

Even with the winch, I would never run with out front recovery points.

the winch on my TJ stuck out in front of that style grill guard so i got a front bumper w/ a hitch receiver in it and then mounted the grill guard on that

the bumper was similar to stock just heavier

the front receiver is my personal choice IF you insist on that style of grill guard which IMHO is on the flimsy side

just a personal opine
