What can I add to this step to drop it down so we can get in and out easier? Removing the lift would be 2-3K and I don't want to do that. TIA

Yes that is correct

Do you and your partner both need help getting in the Jeep?

Honestly there is not a lot of things out there.

Step stool you have to be able to get it back in the Jeep.

Step extensions you lose ground clearance. If that's important to you.

The stirrup Step Honestly to me would be the best.

We won’t be going off roading. Just some caliche roads that get bad when wet, beach and highway driving.

If you are not rock climbing, you could always take that step off and ask a local fab/weld shop to extend it a few inches for you.

But every inch lower is defeating the purpose of having the Jeep, especially lifted... in the first place... and more risk it will get hung up and ripped off.

That, or there is the option of making a step loop by hanging a chain for a step. The plus of a chain loop is it's flexible so it will move if up against something. The down side of a chain step is it will move when used as a step and potentially make noise. I've seen them made using cable and rubber straps too.

That's why I posted the stirrup, you an pull it back in and it won't make noise.

gI try to imagine it as my 78 year old dad getting in and out of a lifted Jeep, getting in with that would be ok... but trying to put that back in and get out would be a bear.... I'd say if you're not doing much more that 2 tracks and logging roads you'll be fine to have it permanently extended a few inches.... just be aware of the low hanging fruit.

I went down this road back in 2017. I got some real leather and made a stirrup. I still have them today, but they’re not on my Jeep. They can be a bit dicey since they move when you apply weight to them. I thought @Plumber1 solution was really good. He has a step that bolts on the bottom of his rock slider that’s easily removable. You don’t have a rock slider though. The nerf bar you have could possibly be modified to have a lower step, but as many have mentioned, you are losing clearance and putting it in harms way so you have to remember that as you drive around. There is a retractable slider that costs about $2000 just for the parts. I think it is a good solution for you. The next best solution is to remove the lift and modifications and go back to stock. Perhaps an even better solution is to sell the Jeep and get a stock version. Considering all that I’d probably sell.
