Anyone know what's good or what to stay away from? Or a good site to get recommendations?

Needs good road manners. I'm thinking about 6" lift.

6" on a suburban is like 3" on a TJ. 33s (ish).

1/2. Never heard of a 1/4.

6" on a Suburban is more like 4 " suspension on a TJ . which is fine as long as you are willing to give up highway performance .

6" and fair road manners are a maybe , but good manners are a hard push in my opinion . 6" lift seems like a lot for 33's .

6" is definitely not required on a GMT800 for 33s. A Suburban will accommodate that with a torsion bar crank.

My old Tahoe with 275/60/20 (32.9") with only cranked torsion bars...

6" on an IFS is going to play hell with the drive line angles. Dropping the differential without rotation to keep the CV axles happy will likely require DC joints on the front driveshaft. 6" just at the suspension (spindles/springs) is going to kill the axle CVs. Splitting the difference is going to make all the angles bad.
From a quick search, quite a few manufacturers make 6" lifts for the IFS trucks but I suggest reading the installation fine print about front driveline modifications.

For extra clearance on 33s, may I suggest 2" keys up front and a 1.5" rear coil spacer.

What performance would suffer on the highway? I'm not looking for a canyon carver I just want it to comfortably cruise at 90.

I'm just trying to keep the bumpers from dragging.

I'm not lifting to clear tires or going for looks. I'm lifting for ground clearance. 265/70r17 (32s) no lift now and have never felt it's lacking tire.

BDS does a 4.5" lift. Best I can tell it keeps the CV angles the same. Same bracket as the 6" lift. The 6" just adds keys.

Leave it stock with high performance street tires . You can lift it for better offroad performance but it will effect the ability to "comfortably cruise at 90 " .
This is why you can't get a Power Wagon option on Dodge Challenger SRT.
