Where is the fog light switch on my 2004 TJ?

My factory equipment list says my 2004 sport came equipped with front fog lamps. The lamps had been removed and I want to replace them. I can find the fog lamp plugs under the front fenders, but I can't locate a factory switch. Nothing on the steering column and no auxiliary switch. How do I wire in a switch or should a buy new steering column switch assembly with the integral fog lamp switch?

The fog light switch is built into the MFS stalk on the left side of the steering column.

My MFS stalk is w/o the fog lamp switch, so I assume all I need to do is buy a MFS w/ fog lamp switch.

Just to be safe, see if you have the plug stuck in one of the switch blanks in your cig lighter panel. I know yours should be on the MFS. Mine is a 2000 so no MFS and the pig tail was stuck in a switch blank. Oddly, I had no connectors under the fenders. Bummed about that.

Double check that. I think some of the replacement switches don't have markings for the fog light, and they can rub off after a while too. You turn them on by pulling straight out.

This picture was worth a thousand words. Thank you for adding the arrow and posting. No need to install the stand alone wiring harness for the new Hella 500 lights on the ARB bull bar, just had to wire them to the existing wiring and switch. Thank you!

I bought my 05 TJ in February. There were no fog lights on it but according to the build sheet there should be.
Driving around I noticed an indicator light that would flicker occasionally on the dash. I figured out that it was the fog light indicator and it flickered because there was a flaky connection in the multifunction switch. I surmised that was why a previous owner removed the fog lights. All they had to do was remove the fuse.

Anyway.

I wanted my fog lights.

I found some take-off fog lights from a forum member here. I ordered a TRQ multi-function switch from Amazon. I installed both.

Now I have fog lights that work great.

The pic is what the switch looks like. Pull for fog lights.

Hello there....similar situation here: just bought after market fogs for my 2005 TJ, connectors are present under each fender, great! but the light switch on the left of the steering wheel does not have the "pull" function for the factory fogs. Should I get one like you did? or mount a separate switch somewhere? Is that "TRQ" switch easy to install? thanks for your response.

Yes, just replace the switch with one that that works with fog lights. TRQ is the brand name. The switch is pretty easy to change. There are several YouTube videos showing how to do it. You may have to install the fog light fuse and relay if they are not already installed. Here is a link to the switch I used.

I've been good since installing a Napa Echlin multifunction switch (w/ fog light pull switch). Didn't make sense to add a switch to the dash when this route was cleaner and more efficient.

First, make sure your wrangler was originally spec’d with fog lights by visiting …. https://fcagroup.my.site.com/RAM/s/equipment-listing

Type in your VIN and then be sure your equipment listing includes “FRONT FOG LAMPS” on page 2. That way, you’ll know you’re not wasting time and money on replacing the multifunction switch.

Thanks , it didn’t have the fog lights option. Funny though that they had the wiring and connectors (under fenders) but not the multi function switch. I ordered the TRQ, all good.

All taken care of, thanks for the advice ; my wife doesn’t understand, she says there’s no fog in our part of AZ….🤣🤣

TRQ parts at AM-Autoparts are warrantied for 10 years (even brake pads). They stand by their warranty too. I've been using them for over 10 years.
p.s. I've got a new multi-function switch, stock track bar and draglink, MML spacers, and factory tow hooks, if anyone wants them. Shipping for heavier items make FREE not so good. If you live in Va, you're good.
PM me if you need/want something.
