My Jeep project continues this weekend which, of course, has led to more questions. The rig is a 1998 TJ, manual tranny, 4.0. So far I've installed new JKS springs (2" springs that netted ~2.5") and a Savvy 1.25" body lift, with 33x10.50 tires (it's turning out really nice - love the look!). I have the JKS 1" MML sitting here ready for install but now, after reading some of the pit falls that may accompany that I'm questioning how to proceed. Specifically, I've read some folks have had issues with shifting the manual tranny, and shifting the transfer case in to 4H & 4L.
So, I'm hoping for some insight before choosing how to proceed
My options as I understand them:
1) Drive as is to evaluate vibes before installing the MML. Will require dropping the fan shroud 1" OR installing the radiator relocation bracket.
2) Install MML now, without testing. This negates the need to mess with the fan shroud or the radiator bracket, but sounds like it may result in other issues.
So, my ultimate question to you guys, is what issues might I run into with options #1 & option #2? How would you proceed?
