New radiator needed

I wish mine had only cracked 😲 .

I installed a Nissens from rock auto in mine and it has worked very well. Had a new denso in it first but it was running a little hotter than it should. With the Nissens I haven't gone over 210 yet.

I've been running a spectrum rad as it was the only one I could get at the time. Probably have 70,000 km behind it now.

Just picked up a crown automotive 52080183 from Quadratec and I'm wondering if I should return it. Heads up. Their website description showed this as a 2 row but upon inspection it's 1 row. This is the third flipping return I've had with these clowns.

Been having overheating issues and was thinking the 2 row would be better in the AZ heat while off-road etc. I've read mixed advice on 1 row vs 2 row.

I'm installing the Denso on Saturday. I can let you know how it performs in this Georgia weather (90-97F)

It depends upon how thick the 1 row is. Some have much larger tubes so the 1 row has the same or more cooling capability as a 2 row. Take a look at the picture of the blown up radiator that Harold&Cat posted above - that factory radiator is a 1 row, and the tubes are VERY thick ( like 2 row equivalent thick).

I have posted many times that I installed a stock-replacement Murray radiator from the local O'Reilly Auto Parts. It has cooled my Jeep fine for several years of daily driving to work in the 115+ temperatures in rush hour traffic with the AC on, and also done well off-roading in the desert areas. It has a lifetime warranty and the local store has them in stock, so if anything ever goes wrong I can get a replacement the same day.

Installed the Koyorad today. Funny thing, turns out that my previous rad is a Koyorad. 😅 I've had a lot of sediment coming up through the tubes so I wanted to replace it just to know that it's done. Thought that was super funny the previous owner put one of em in there. I wish I knew how old that one was tho. Will flush it out and keep as a backup.

I have to say the Koyorad packaging was much better than the crown automotive radiator. Although the crown had brass cooler fittings for the trans lines and more vertical tubes than the Koyorad. The Koyo has a larger trans cooler than the crown. I can recommend the Koyo but that's currently just based on build quality.

Hoping the Koyorad holds up as I've been having overheating issues with the AC lately. Right now my entire cooling system is brand new - except the evaporator and heater core.

The temperatures in the afternoon have been mid to high 90's and the Koyorad radiator and engine flushing along with the Robert Shaw high flow thermostat and the USMW fan clutch have been keeping the temperature gauge at 210 highway driving , slow trail driving and sitting idling for 30 minutes or so all with the a/c on .
So far we are very happy with it .

The packaging on the Koyorad was phenomenal . :)

It’s a shame they suck. Some people have good results with them but many do not. Good looking though.

I have a Denso and it’s working great no matter how hot it gets. Some people say I do not get the results I am. They are wrong. Ignore stupidity

to be honest the UK really only gets hot for a few weeks every few years so not too concerned about small "performance" difference, just purchased a Nissens as somebody else mentioned having on in this thread, if that fails i will try to find a Denso in right hand drive. most annoying part I had to butcher an OEM fan shroud a little to git this ALU one to fit
