My 2002 TJ engine sounds good. The problem is that when I come to a stop, the idle gets rough and then the engine stops. (Sometimes) In park, the idle is around 900 RPMs. I know we are thinking vacuum, but I feel i have done a pretty good job repairing vacuum leaks. (The obvious stuff) Any suggestions?

Thank you for that quick response. I did not know what a IAC valve was, but getting the Actual MOPAR replacement for $68.00, I would rather replace it than clean it. After all, the IAC valve is 20 years old. Again, Thank you. Well, before I sent this post to you, I tried to order the IAC valve on Amazon and I get the following message. "Sorry, this item cannot be shipped to your selected address due to local laws or Amazon policy. Please change the shipping address or delete the item from your order." California SUCKS!

You're really not cleaning the part per se. You're cleaning the passage in the throttle body. The IAC opens and closes and uses that passage.

If you don't clean it then you can throw as many IACs at it as you want and it'll never work.

You could replace the entire throttle body. But nobody seems to make a quality replacement.

BBK makes a quality replacement, though it's 62mm and whistles at a specific point.

But it doesn't resolve the IAC cleanliness.

given the high idle, its probably a vacuum leak somewhere if the IAC doesn't solve it. I probably need to clean mine, it will idle fine until it warms up, then starts idling a little high. if I put it in neutral or park it will hunt up and down until I shut off and restart, after which it idles perfect again.
