There's a nuclear sub naval base here in Western Washington and a nuclear waste disposal site in Yucca Mountain, NV. Not too strange that it would go by here, just never seen it. I mean it has to go somewhere, eventually.
The glow in the dark waste could also be getting shipped to the INL in Central Idaho. The INL hosts the Naval Reactor Facility for temporary storage and examination of spent fuel from Navy submarines and aircraft carriers. They also have a subsurface disposal facility.
My guess would be Bangor (sub base), but possibly Bremerton.

I was thinking Bangor myself. My dad was stationed at Bangor when I was a wee lad. We lived just off base in a little Bell Trailer for the 6 months or so that he was there for classes.

I wouldn't think it would go by my house to go to ID though. It would be going just south of my place and hitting a split that will send it south towards Oregon (because the other way is a dead end in Aberdeen). Seems like the more efficient way to ID would be across WA. Looks like extra distance to go down to OR and across. But I can't say for sure.

When you look at where the INL is geographically it makes perfect sense to drop into Oregon before turning east.

Possibly? This is why I figure they wouldn't. There's a BNSF line (which is what the engine was) that heads east from Tacoma to Tri-Cities and then across the border into OR. Seems like a more direct line than going south to Portland and then east. Sorry, I can't find a single map that shows everything.

If it's going to ID it will cross at Payette it seems. It would either go along the Columbia on the WA or OR side.

There's probably a Reddit page to track the thing! 😂

@reddvltj I found this from December. Looks like maybe they take the WA side along the river, assuming they take the same route. Seems like something they would actually vary?

I can't imagine them varying the route, since they don't seem all that worried about disguising it. Although I also wouldn't put it past the DOD and Nuclear Regulatory Commission to alter the means of transportation to keep people guessing as to when and how it's shipped.

Pretty neat stuff though. Learned a lot just because I saw a train lol

On this night, September 10, 2001 ... 24 years ago:

246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights.

2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning.

343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift.

60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol.

8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift.

None of them saw past 11:00am Sept 11, 2001.

In one single moment life may never be the same. As you live and enjoy the breaths you take today and tonight before you go to sleep in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted.

Never forget.

My youngest found this wedding pic in my MILs closet today.

My best man identifies as girl 😃

That is my sister. 7 years younger and no fear back then. Would be my copilot at Hollister Hills doing Top Truck stuff in my full size Chevy hot garbage.

For @Zorba (yeah they spelled Grapeseed wrong, or maybe that's what they call it in Africa)

The W123 version of the 240D didn't come out until 77 - at least in the US. But yea, I've ridden in more than one 240D, and even 220D taxis in Greece. I owned a '74 240D, and learned to drive on a '71 220D. My 240D had a bad case of cancer, otherwise I'd still be driving it.
