Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ engine mounts

What did you do to your TJ today?

I've had corrosion in a wire near the ground at the front. Think it was for the headlamp level adjuster, but same area.

IF you can determine which of the contacts in the turn signal socket is the ground, you could try wedging a wire in with the bulb and running the wire to a ground.

If the light works normally, the original wire is bad somewhere along it's length .

Thank you @jonny jeep. 🇬🇧

I'm not much on custom wheels, all I ask of a wheel is that it be round. With that said, I really like these.

Fred Flintstone and Wilma thank you.;)

Parked it - in the rain. I had towed the little trailer last nite, and parked the combo in the driveway when I got home. Wanted to do a tire rotate on the trailer before putting it away. Nice and cloudy this AM, so I stepped outside to do so. As soon as I did, that damn GLARING sun came out and baked me. Got that done, came inside for a soda and to cool off, hoping for more clouds. They eventually came, so I went out again to get both the trailer and the Jeep parked. Of course, it IMMEDIATELY started to rain. All things considered, I'd rather deal with rain than that damn GLARING sun - so I just kept at it and got them both put away. Completely soaked to the skin, didn't do my hair any favors either.

I really don't like the climate here. Sun, heat, boats, and water is what Florida is all about. I'm not into any of those, but being as its the freest state in the union, largely thanks to @Rooscooter 's favorite politician, I'll "deal". At least it doesn't snow, THAT would be far worse!

I don’t like that we have to have politicians…. The least effective are the ones I like the most as their intentions for us I like even less.

Sorry for no pics, but my pc link to my phone ain't working and i'm way too damn lazy to figure it out. That said, Apex with new to me motor and transmission is up and running. Motor sounds good, although on initial fire up it had a lifter banging away for a bit until it pumped up. Haven't heard that again even after sitting overnight. Ran the rig down the road and the 32rh is hitting all gears, lockup lockups, kickdown kicks down, and I gotta say, for an auto with 3.07s, it actually seems to do ok on 31s, Much to my surprise. Heater core is bypassed for the time being as I plan on doing a motor flush and don't wanna pump that crap thru the heater core. No leaks that I have detected as of yet. Anyone who has done a motor swap knows that when you first fire these suckers up they look like they are on fire with all of the oil and grease and such from our fingers, etc. they smoke like crazy. That's all gone now and it's clean. I'm pretty damn happy except my reverse lights aren't working. The harness underneath was freakin' fried and i did lots of repairs, but maybe that's an issue. I tested the trans switch and it tested good, so I've got some work to do there.

Also today had to replace an outer door handle. What a crazy sustem that holds these suckers in! I mean, it couldn't just be a couple nuts? Seriously, two toothed wedged things with a locking spring? Anyway, got the passenger replaced which was so worn that it wouldn't engeage the latch, just bound on itself. Gonna do drivers later, tho it's working fine for the time being. Apex came with two new outer door handles, so at least they are free.

I’m new to the TJ world. Last week I did the same and was truly amazed that someone came up with this system for retaining the door handles.

Over the last few weeks, the LJ has developed a high pitch whine while moving. It seemed to be mostly after a longer drive, especially higher speed like the interstate.

2wd, 4wd, on the brakes, in neutral, in gear, whatever didn't make any difference.

Tonight it got REALLY loud and I climbed under and started wiggling the driveshaft and checking everything. The only thing I noticed was the front pinion seal's outter dust lip moved slightly when twisting the front driveshaft.

With no real idea if it would work, I took a pick and gently pulled back the seal lip and sprayed Tri-Lube Teflon spray under it and took it for a ride and it's COMPLETELY quiet now. I will test drive it again tomorrow and see if it actually cured it. If it did, I will get some better kinda oil or some lithium spray to hopefully fix it.
