Howdy.

I've just replaced the LED headlights that came with the Jeep when I bought it, to factory halogens. I also had to replace the headlamp socket/connector due to the PO cutting the connector off and wiring straight into the old lights. When I turn the headlights on, the front signal and marker lights all come on with the headlights now. Attached are some pictures of a cut connector on the drivers side, just because I dont know what it's for and I'm unsure if that'd cause the issue, though it didn't with the LED lights. Unsure if anybody else has this issue going from LED back to factory halogen.

Thanks for any help!

Wires colours don't match the 06 FSM but that connector should be for front fog lamps based on it's location.

There's another connector behind that one that I assumed was for the fog lights, but I'm not sure. Would you know if cutting that connector would give me the symptoms I'm having now?

Assuming you have incandescent bulbs in the front turn signal and side marker lamps, normal behaviour is this...

When marker and headlights are off - the front turn signal and side marker will flash at the same time.

The front turn signal has a dual filament 27/7 W bulb. When marker lamps or headlights are on - the side marker will illuminate, and the front turn signal will light at a lower brightness as the 7W filament gets power. When indicating, the 27W filament will illuminate the front turn signal brighter, and the side marker will turn off when it does so.

If those bulbs are incandescent, that behaviour should be the same whether you have LED or halogen headlamps.

On that loom coming through the fender you should have the front indicator and side marker connectors, the only other connector on that loom as far as I know is the fog lamp connector.

Thank you so much for the detailed reply.

So, it sounds like it's doing what it should? The marker and signal lights didn't come on with the LED headlights, but they do now with the halogen and that's correct, if I'm understanding completely.

I just confirmed that with headlights off, markers and signals flash at the same time. When headlights are on, they flash separately (presumably to give a better signature at night). If this is how Jeep wanted it and it's normal, then I've been chasing a ghost and you're a savior.

Those lamps should have behaved the same regardless of headlamp type. Maybe the grounds for those was bad and you've got them working again when you were sorting the headlamp connectors.

Sounds like it's all working as it should anyway, so that's a result.
