What did you do to your TJ today?

I think I need to trim the wheel wells to match the new flare
Thanks! Sounds like a good solution to my problem - remove nutserts and mount to the armor. Appreciate the tips - This is definitely one of those 'only get 1 try to get it right' type jobs to avoid swiss cheesiing them so I want to be fully prepared walking in.

Can't recommend using something like this enough for the countersunk holes. Saw it in a forum search before I started and bought it, makes getting the holes lined up perfectly a breeze. Then if you need a nutsert (3 per side) just bump those holes up to 17/32"

Thanks - great tip, especially about the nutsert sizing!

I picked up the Rotobroach last year after @hosejockey61's YT review - in long-term future planning for this job.

Any brand recommendations for good nutsert/rivnut hardware? Also, have you ever worked with studserts/rivetstuds?

Jay Cee Sales
Hanson Rivet
and of course, McMaster for small slightly more expensive quantities.

I have not worked with the studs due to not having the tools or the inclination to figure one out. And, I don't like the price.

I look small in the middle here. Need more upgrades!

Finally got around to redoing the fender flares yesterday. They have needed it for quite some time!! A good scuffing and cleaning, some adhesion promoter, and a few coats of Rustoleum Bed Liner. Did this to my jeep way back when in college and it held up great and I kind of like the little bit of texture with the bed liner! And yes, the rain cover is on and sun is out..........it decides to rain at random this time of year in TN!! Also new marker lenses....but those were all of 5 minutes "effort".

OK, motor is pretty much prepped to go in. Since the motor came from a WJ and it uses different holes for the motor mounts I had to source a bottoming tap to clean up the holes. motor mounts are on the block, reman motorman fuel injectors installed with fuel rail with a schrader valve, plus the DEI heat reflector kit. I'll wrap the injectors once I check for leaks. I'm hoping to get the motor in place tomorrow.

I thought anything DEI isn't allowed anymore.

You're not even going to paint it? I thought you were serious about your engine performance. Just think of all the ducks you'd get at the next Suburban Jeep Club Meetup of Hot Singles in Your Area.

I splashed some engine paint on the block. looks nice with the brass freeze plugs. Otherwise, IDGAF lol.

Edited to add: Shit! I didn't think about all the ducks I'd get! Man I gotta get some hot pink flames on the side of that block before it goes in! Wifey will also be driving this one and she just got her LTC, so I'm very afraid what would happen at the Jeep Hot Singles Meetup......
