I have a damaged front passenger upper spring perch. I cut it off and will be replacing it with another OEM spring perch. The current perch sits at an 8 degree angle and makes the 4in Currie lift spring look like a banana. Is there any reason to weld the new perch on at the same 8 degree angle? I have a Wagoneer Dana 44 front axle and the lower coil spring perches will be perfectly flat. I'm also installing front a mid arm 3 link if that makes any difference.
If possible, I'd like the coil springs to be straight and the bump stops to point directly to the center of the lower mounts. I'm just not sure why the factory angled the perches, I have a pair or OEM perches, I'd like to make both side level.
