Rear Axle Shock Mount Ripped in Half

That's similar to Dave Kishpaughs relocate. I actually did it with my old axle. Cut the stock mount off, weld it to a plate, then weld that to the back of the control arm mount. It gets the shock mount out of the way and places it to the outside of the axle. I ran like that for years.

Cool and simple idea. I'm surprised I've haven't seen it before and embarrassed not to have thought of it myself with all the time I've spent staring at this area in the last few years.

Looks less robust than stock to me. And still only 3/16".

I'll probably go with Barnes unless somebody knows of a reason not to.

I’d guess its both stronger and better protected than the stock brackets. I’d switch to those right now if I wasn’t planning to outboard soon.
