I love the ducktape part!! I have done the same thing a time or 4.
The ol' lady just looked at me like I was some kind of monster.

More of a "do with" not "do to", but does lead to an LJ project. I drove Tessie to pick up some needed fasteners at the local hardware so I could finish up a project started about three months ago...
After being stripped of the "rat fur" covering I applied almost 20 years ago when I first built the cab, I leveled the plywood (necessary as a lower grade of plywood was used under the rat fur, it hides more), swapped the flush mount handles for semi-recessed, swapped the feet for casters and re-covered the whole shebang-a-bang-a in some fresh tolex.

Now I can get back to working on Tessie's hardtop refinishing!![]()
Fought with Gerry’s doors. I won but all the hinge bushings and two of the pins are done for. End of a couple week effort to get them off. Passenger side came off ok, driver side was racked a little and that misalignment boogered everything up.
Enlisted Kroil, bottle jack, 3 pound hammer, Dremmel, drift, air chisel and drill press in the effort. New delrin bushings and steel pins coming tomorrow.

One of the trashed bushings
We also pulled the passenger seat to replace the seat belt buckle. Kid driving around topless and doorless today.
Replaced my old vents with some new ones from Amazon…. My old ones were toast..(fins were missing And no adjustment so they would blow everywhere except where you wanted it..The old ones at the top of the pic.View attachment 626085
Here's what the TJ did to me today...
Pretty deep cut, probably needed a bunch of stitches, but I had stuff to do. Currently fixed with a gauze bandage and some duct tape, in true meathead fashion.

Nice! I usually use a paper towel and electrical tape.
Well, over the last week and yesterday, I finally got this project done. I kind of dreaded it knowing the prep work involved and that even in the shade here in TN, it was still gonna be hot which made my "work time" with the product a little more tricky. Monstaliner is an amazing product IMO but dang an temp controlled place to apply would've been better. Anyway, scuffed the floor all last week after work, got any rust down to bare metal, applied epoxy primer over bare spots, and took about 5-6 hours on a balmy Sunday to coat. Overall, it looks good enough for what I was after. The color is very close to the dash color. Will find out on our LBL ride on the 4th how it holds up!!

I am wanting to do the same thing. Carpet in mine is beyond shot. Did you roll or spray? How was the odor? Thinking i may do it in my garage.
I rolled it because I knew I wouldn't have the patience to tape everything off to spray. The odor is for sure potent. I was in my dad's shop, both front and back doors open, and like 3 fans going just to keep air moving. One thing I wish I had done different was to have done it when it was closer to 70-80 degrees and less humid. But I never had the free time and then summer hits like it always does.

Resale value decreases with people that use bedliner on the floors and ditch carpet. Here in Va, that and flat fenders means rust is trying to be covered up.
How are they? One of my center vents is missing the fins entirely.
