Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ radiator

What did you do to your TJ today?

It's for both me and the wife. She wanted one to haul the grandkids in, and i wanted it to keep miles off BB too. It will split duty with the F150 for work commute.

Our grandkid hauler is a 98 4 Runner . 4 doors make car seats much easier . Depending on the year of the JKU it might be reliable and I hope it is !
The 3.6 is either Okay or your worst nightmare . I wish smooth sailing for you guys . Oh by the way , pull the ducks off the dash and post some photos !!! :p

I just read that's it a 2008 so 3.8 V-6 . Slow but reliable , with oil leaks . Rev it much and the rods like to make windows . However it's a MUCH simpler engine that the 3.6 and doesn't eat valvetrain like a fat lady in a ice cream shop. It should be good to you guys .

My son has the 3.8, it has worked well for him. He does need to keep an eye on the oil but that seems to be the story with the 3.8. Yes it’s easier to work on than the 3.6. Though we haven’t had to do much with it 😂.

PS - keep an open for the tranny, they can run hot as they don’t come with a cooler. His has displayed “hot oil” a couple of times.

Started install of my genright mini boatsides, pretty happy with the fit I got. I do have to figure out a solution for the front lower two bolts, they ended up right over two of the large holes in the torque tube. Probably just make two new holes in suitable locations for a riv nut. Here's the passenger side, still have to do the driver. Ordered corner armor too today, didn't plan on doing it this soon and I'd have done it first if I did.

My brother bought a brand new JKU in 2015. It has a whopping 12,500 miles on it now. Garage kept and never even driven in the rain. If he ever decides to sell it, I'd buy it in a second. Half price "Brother discount" of course. ;)
p.s. Those little tires are 35s.
