How much extra are the REM gears? That's revolution that does that right

Revolution does it for 100 bucks extra but I wasn't gonna wait another 10 days on top of their shipping time so I went to a shop that did it for 125 and have em back In a dew days !

Wait, what? You paid $475 and it included replacing the RMS?

Yeah. I'm in Mexico. Labor costs are a lot lower.

The shop is very reputable. Came with good recommendations from a trusted friend. That's the key, finding good connections.

I'll confess: There is much that I could do on my own, but labor cost here is often low enough that I often just pay to have it done.

Last oil change on my pickup, I was all set to do it myself. I had the oil, filter all purchased. Passed by a shop near the house and asked out of curiosity. $5.50usd labor.

I let them do it.

I know I'm kinda the self proclaimed 32RH guy, but ever since I rebuilt mine, I've never been able to get the shift points dialed in to the same spot as they were before. BUT, as part of the rebuild I changed out the TV cable, torque converter, and had "issues" with some incorrect valve body diagrams in the FSM, so there were just enough variables (plus it was my first rebuild) that it was never clear what the issue was. I've rebuilt several others and talked countless others through the job....nobody ever complained about the shift points moving. I did my daughter's, but for reasons (I couldn't get the new one seated and the trans itself didn't really require a rebuild, i just had it open to service the pump seal), I re-used the TC. Hers shifts perfectly, like mine used to. So I'm thinking maybe it's the TC, although in my mind i figure its got to be the TV cable.

I've adjusted that thing sixty ways from sunday, and it just goes through the gears too fast, and the 2-3 downshift works, but pretty quickly goes back into 3rd. I've unhooked it and that made it much worse, so I know it's doing something. I've read the FSM countless times. I"ve read posts here countless times. But I broke down and asked ChatGPT why my 32RH is shifting early. We had a great conversation. After about 10-15 rounds of prompts it finally gave me crystal clear direction on how specifically to adjust the TV cable for my symptoms. For one, it involved moving it the opposite direction of what makes sense and for what the FSM seems to suggest; I moved it back & away from the throttle body. And then I moved it much further than I had ever tried before.

And all of a sudden its shifting a lot later. Still needs to be tweaked, but I'm kicking myself that all this time the answer was there. I still don't understand the adjustment, but I guess now that I've seen direct positive results, I can start to investigate the how/why.

Yay for not being too stubborn to learn.

Threw in some 0.75" spacers above the rear springs to help with sag when loaded, and my O'Rilley AGM Super Start Marine only lasted 6 months longer than it warranty so in with the 4 year warranty Odyssey Extreme for just over $300. Napa had a 20% off for Fathers Day so it seemed like a good upgrade for ony a few extra dollars.
