Hello all,
I plan to replace the rusted body mounts and have to do the job in my driveway without a lift. I would lift each wheel and place each on a 10 inch high solid wood block for work clearance and then do the body lifting from there. Does this sound like a good idea or would there be a better way to do this. All responses are greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading,

Pocojo

Look up how to install a body lift. All you need is a floor jack and a short length of 2x4 to raise to body off the frame to access the isolaters. Plus another block as a safety wedge. But there is an order of operations to it.

I'm not sure from your post if your doing a body lift or welding new body mounts brackets. If its a body lift @jjvw has you covered. For replacing/relocating body mounts the 6 on the frame can easily be done with the tires on. Muddy Beards 4x4 has a great video on this.

Yes I saw that video but wanted to have the additional clearance to remove the gas tank and access the rear mounts in the center. Thanks

Replacing rusted mounts one side at a time. Thanks

Then follow the exact same process since accessing the isolaters above the rear shock mounts are part of installing a body lift. Dropping the gas tank has no impact on this and does not involve separating the body from the frame.

Yes but I also have some extensive rust repair areas that will require cutting torch work and welding and the tank is in the way of all that.

Ok. Is there anything else only you know about? 🤣

If your repairs are that extensive you should post some pictures to give us a better idea. If you're dropping the tank you should definitely pick up a set of fuel line pliers and a new fuel pump.
