What did you do to your TJ today?

New transfer case and both differential fluids, and snapped a bolt on one of my steering stops, not sure why I even tried that.

Also did some detective work. Been trying to figure out why my steering is so sloppy, so when I was changing the front diff fluid, I started twisting the front driveshaft. I noticed a U Joint that was moving oddly, and upon closer inspection, it's junk, and needs to be replaced.

While doing the rear diff, I grabbed everything under there, as I've been experiencing an odd clunking on occasion. Grabbed the rear track bar, and found the passenger side bushing is shot.

More things to do. 😁

I like to do everything myself.
Now, with that said, that is not too practical all the time so I need to choose my battles and allow an expert to do some things faster and better than I can.

I wish I could do most things myself, but sadly I currently have no space to work on my jeep.... Driveway is a literal hill and there is no way in hell my family would let me tear the jeep apart and hold up their garage for more than 48 hours.

Most of the stuff done to the jeep was done by me before moving back home (Where I had my garage setup as a shop and the landlord hated it) but when it comes to certain things... leave it to the experts.

Finally replaced the single din with a double and fixed the previous owners wiring nightmare.

Ok, new mopar clips, bolts, NTK’s, ditched U-bolt that came with this Holley setup for band clamp. All back in except driveshaft and skid plate. 2004… 23ft/lbs? Am I reading that right? Should I retorque after a heat cycle or while hot?

What cats did you get?

Holley when they were blowing them out last year on sale. Which from warranty card that was in there they sourced Eastern Mfg Inc. cats it seems. They just did a great job with bends and what not with no crimps and god awful things like some I’ve seen. I wanted to ditch third cat but they even had flange on nice angle and little jog in pipe to make up for the factory bends so I decided I’d never be able to duplicate it and left it alone and stuck it in.

Saw those and thought about just grabbing a set and tucking them away for down the road. But I didn’t. Same with Mopar transmission cooling lines. I’ll regret that I’m sure…

I hear ya. I just got stretched out the other day on this Mopar slave cylinder setup shipped from Greece. It was pricey but I figured in 3 years it should pay for itself and I don’t have to worry about it for hopefully quite awhile. From what I read aftermarket’s were going about a year- year and a half. I seen another fella on here had his Mopar one blow out all over driveway first push. I’ve been luckier so far except I still can’t sit down all the way. It’s only been a week though and I’ve only driven it once. We’ll see. Shitty part is my old one still worked but my foot was wet and sandy and slipped off clutch pedal and broke fingers that hold shaft in master.

I did just that because down the road I'm sure my cats will need to be replaced.

I just did this job because I had a rattle when cold. 160,000 something on the clock and noise coming from cat I thought for sure media. Well, after dropping it and seeing all media in tact, I found hairline crack in heat shield tack weld on block side I couldn’t see 🤦🏻‍♂️. Im normally not that stupid but I’ve no excuse in this case. Wasn’t thorough enough and assumed. Stupid costs.

Little nephew put that up there, wasn’t going to say no. Very much not into the whole duck thing .

Fair warning, they are like rabbits. When you leave one alive, they will multiply. I tried in vain to exterminate them when we bought ours last month, but my wife gave one new one to our 17-year old because “it’s cute”.

He now has a new flock of 6. Ugh.

I never left them (rabbits) alive with my pets. 🤫
WARNING! Vegan's beware!
p.s. My Lizards stayed indoors most of the time and never ate my cats, although I would have loved them to eat my neighbors yapping chihuahuas.
