Put in new shocks, had to cut access holes in the rear tub to cut off the snapped bolts. Those fukkers were welded on good!!! Took a lot longer than I was expecting.
Also new tranny fluid, used Redline MT90 because it seems like a favorite here.

Update to my AC fiasco this weekend!
My local shop quoted my $1280 (including labor) for an entire system replacement since the compressor decided to implode and shoot fine metal particles everywhere....
Just poked around and saw thats the price of a full kit from JeepAir... It could be worse.... Going to do it anyways because I cannot live without AC in Texas summer....
That's why I mentioned making sure it was just the clutch. Compressor bearings only last so long, and when they fail, it ain't purdy. My local shop quoted my $1280 (including labor) for an entire system replacement since the compressor decided to implode and shoot fine metal particles everywhere....
100%. It's a lot of work to replace everything, and it really is necessary to ensure 100% functionality afterwards. That's actually a pretty good price.
I'm driving 4 hours to go look at another 2006 White TJ. After doing a bunch of research, I suggested to the wife "Hey we could totally build his & hers Jeeps for all we spent on the JL" and she signed off on the idea.

Yup, I checked it out myself and that mf was not spinning at all by hand.... Well, the clutch was...
I sorta questioned the price because it sounded kinda low compared to when I did it myself on my 99' Miata after the PO crushed the condenser and never cared to repair it.... The kit for that car was more than what I will be paying for the entire replacement on my Jeep!
Should have it back by lunchtime tomorrow since the tech working it has nothing else to work on...
Now to just debate between taking it to a transmission shop for a reseal or find a slot in my busy life to go bug Hear about sealing/replacing the TCC as well.
Glad you got them out, took us longer than expected on those last week too. You end up getting the bolt remnants out or just knocking the welded nuts off the cross member?
We took the nuts off and replaced them with bolts dropped in from the top and new nuts snugged up to the shock on the underside. 3/4 nuts were welded on good, 4th popped off easy with like 3 seconds of air hammering it from the underside.
Much easier to put back the rear shocks together than to get them out. Far less cursing involved.
