2003 Wrangler X 4.0L 5sp
New 2.5” Rancho lift, new shocks, new adj CA’s
New steering box and all associated steering parts EXCEPT

,……I forgot the track bar
Sooo Looking for recommendations
Is the Rough Country option more desirable?

I generally shop Rock Auto and buy the best available
Figured Id ask here first. No rock crawling in the future
Pretty sure I did the ZJ components on all tie rods and what not

Everything highlighted was replaced except I got a new bushing only for track bar and later realized I screwed up end of last season

I was chasing a horrendously loose steering issue
MOSTLY resolved, but still minor slop

The RC bar with a tie rod at the frame is ok. I beat on my jeep so it would bend and need adjusted though.

I have rockjock steering and track bars now. Bulletproof!

The MetalCloak is actually good for builds up to 33” tires. I ran mine for 7 years and it was only when I’d been in 35’s for awhile that I realized it was not beefy enough. I bought a new heim but that didn’t solve it. Up to 33’s is great though.

Why not Rancho ? I just replaced my original Rancho track bar that was part on their Rock crawler 2.5" kit from 2005.
The replacement Rancho used larger Joints than the original . Worked for me .

When I had 33s, I got about 10k miles on mine before the cheap rod end wore out and was contributing to the overall noise and shakyness of the Jeep. I complained to Metalcloak, who told me that is not unexpected, and they sent me a new cheap rod end. I switched to Currie/RockJock rather than deal with garbage part warranty replacements from Metalcloak.

Yeah, I'd either go JKS or if they ever intend to build bigger the Currie/RockJock. There's too many issues with Metalcloak bushings and joints we've seen consistently across the board.

I just did the JKS adjustable. It replaced the RC that the PO installed the week before I bought the Jeep about three years ago. OMG.. huge improvement.

The old bar is serviceable but I opted for new. I still have old bar if anyone wants one. I think I have an extra frame side joint and the axle side bushing is $13 on Amazon,
