What did you do to your TJ today?

I installed a 37 dollar headliner. 1/2” studio foam self adhesive. We will see if stays up. I post a few pics later.

There is no way I was spending 200 to 300 for a headliner.

So far it seems to keep the cab a little cooler with the AC on. Radio sounds better. And, it's even a bit quieter on the highway.

If it falls down I'll staple it in my studio around the drum set. lol

I've heard the vacuum tubes alone fill one of Zorba's bedrooms! :ROFLMAO:

I was actually in the very last class taught vacuum tube theory in tech school! I've always liked tubes...
I'm a bit younger than you (same generation, though), and not only did I miss any vacuum tube theory in college, but I also missed punch cards by one year. We did our FORTRAN class work on dummy terminals or, in my case, via a terminal emulator and 300 baud modem on my first-year Mac (1984).

I do wish I knew more about vacuum tubes, though. That's one of those forgotten technologies that seems to be of the type that makes you go, "whoever came up with this was a technical stud!" once you know about it.

There were two mainframes at my college, a Univac 90/70, and some kind of IBM. The IBM used punch cards, the Univac did not. I learned on the Univac, so never messed with cards, although I have a small amount of experience with punched paper tape. It was a "thing" at the time to punch out the Star Wars logo on a punched card.

In some ways, the vacuum tube was the perfect device - but those heaters killed the overall efficiency of the thing. I still own vacuum tube equipment.

Removed the cruise control module from under the hood; didn't need it with the aftermarket steering wheel.

I also installed the Teraflex hand throttle to tie me over until this winter when I swap the manual to an auto. After backing it out of the garage using the hand throttle, that is going to take A LOT of getting used to.

Got any photo of the wheel setup ?

Finally got my new 15” wheels and tires installed. I now kinda wish I would have went back to stock height instead of having a new 2.5” lift installed when I had a bunch of work done this winter. Oh well always an option down the road I suppose.

But these mammoth boulder in charcoal are sweet. ✌🏼 I went with the Falken Rubitrek AT. They were new on Tire Rack and cheaper than the Wildpeaks I ran in the past.

I'm curious to see the pictures. We're heading into 115+ summer temperatures in the next month or two and I could use some overhead insulation.

Those are hands down my favorite aftermarket wheel on a TJ and with the White Jeep. 👍🏼👍🏼.

And, I’m glad you went with a lift. A stock height TJ looks like it needs 2-3” of lift minimum.

I'm kind of a stock wheel guy but I'd have to agree with you there, especially in the darker charcoal color. I think it has the right mix of classic and modern in its design. I've seen some wheels on TJ's that to me felt a little too modern for the body style.

I run and love stock wheels. Hence why I specified aftermarket. I also run nasty steel homemade beadlocks that I love.

I once plastidipped my 17s to black to see how I liked it. I kept it on a year then removed it. I didn’t like the lack of contrast between the black tire and black rim. Charcoal is a good mix imo.

Now the only issue is extreme terrain had an open box rim practically brand new but it did have a small scratch on the backside. I bought it and three brand new ones. The brand new ones have a different color emblem on the center cap than the used one. The used one has black emblem where the others are the matching lighter charcoal color. My ocd doesn’t like it but they put it on the passenger side so I wouldn’t see if too often 💀

One day when I run a spare again I’ll use it for that unless I can find a matching center cap.

Went to take my daughter and her boyfriend out for dinner for her 21st birthday…. Jeep refused to start.
Cleaned up the terminals on the battery and tighten them down and we were away.
Nice Italian food…. And presented her with her 21st key that I made.
All in all a great evening.

Got the Auxbeam and @Urban 3D panel in, and the wee lil 8" Kicker Tube, as well as new 4x6s and 5.25s, with the amp tucked up under the steering wheel. Mounting the tube upright leaves plenty of room for tools, air compressor, recovery gear, etc. Not a lot of room in the Tuffy enclosure, but I think I'll be happier with this than sacrificing all the extra space I have in my "non-subwoofer" center console.

Definitely an upgrade from the blown Sony Xplods I've been annoyed with for 8 years.
