Hey, y’all!
Well, I
finally managed to get the freakin’
old bumper end caps off and install
new parts.
Man, what a
pain!

Dremel, drill, chisel, utility knife, vise-grips, hammer… you name it, it came outta the shed.
But, the end result was
totally worth the busted knuckles, or at least I think so.
Before:
After:
I made sure to thoroughly clean behind both bumpers, use
stainless torx bolts, and plenty of anti-seize,
just in case.
I installed some new
grille inserts, too, that will
hopefully help protect the A/C condenser and new radiator. At least they’ll keep leaves, twigs, and road debris out. (

Plus, I think they give the grille a nice, updated look without being too garish. The three-minute install was the “win” I needed this weekend.
I also tested some
Sonax wheel cleaner (

one of the stock “Canyon” wheels and am happy to report that it seems to work quite well.
That said, next weekend is being devoted to a
deep clean under the hood with some foaming WD-40 Specialist Machine & Engine degreaser (
https://a.co/d/isMsYS) and a heavy scrub on the exterior, including the wheels, then a good ol’
polish and wax. Lord knows it needs it!
Then maybe,
just maybe, Liz will let me work on my Merc.
“Christine”, as she so
lovingly refers to it

, has been neglected lately as I’ve been concentrating on the TJ.
Now, it’s time for a Guinness…
