Door gap between full doors and surround

On both of my full doors I have a gap in the top corner where the door meets the surround. It’s big enough where I can just get the tips of my fingers in. I replaced the door seals on both doors (from extreme terrain) and they went in fine. I can’t tell if it’s a surround issue (something is missing from it like weather stripping) or if the door is warped or something else. I’ll point out the door looks like it’s not high enough in that location on both sides but door panel gaps look correct and square. Any ideas?

It would be helpful if we could see pictures with the soft top down and pictures of the door surrounds in general. It's hard to tell anything from that picture. If I had to guess the door surrounds aren't installed properly or there is something else going on. Again, hard to tell with that single photo.

It looks like you still have your mucket seals (seal at base of surround) in place, don't think they're to be used with soft top surrounds (though I could be wrong). Might not close up the gap completely. Also, your doors may need adjustment to seal with surrounds.

Yep, remove those mucket seals and see if that helps. They shouldn't be there with the door surrounds on to my knowledge.

In addition, the doors may indeed need to be adjusted.

My mucket seals have been on with my soft top since 2017 and I have no issues like the OP. From my memory, I think the instructions may have said to remove it, but I didn’t (mainly because I was afraid I’d loose them) and it’s worked out fine.

Thank you everyone I’ll take them out and report back. I just want to verify because I’m slightly uncertain. The mucket seals are rubber pieces between the tub and bottom so the surrounds ( very near the door latch)?

Yes.

I have never heard of this. Those seals are in place on my rig, and have been there since new. My rig did come with a factory soft top, and I’ve never had any issues.

What is the reason for removing them? It seems to me that would create a sealing issue.

I do not have a factory top, so they may be different. I feel like Bestop specifically noted removing the mucket seals before installing the soft top surrounds....though I could have imagined that.

I’ve also had my seals on since new. Your problem is someone messed with your windshield and didn’t put it back right. Those black bolts obviously aren’t factory and you would not want to mount anything there as they would block the doors from coming off. But someone messed around with something that changed the windshield angle as someone else mentioned.

I’m pretty sure the bottom black bolt is factory, but the top one isn’t. Looks like there is an outline of those brackets for mirrors for when you have your doors off where the top black bolt is.

The top of the windshield is definitely back further. The gap between my windshield and full door is consistently the same the entire length of the windshield/door frame.
