LOL!

I’ve been collecting misspellings on the WTJForum for the last couple months. It’s a penchant for me because my mom was a really good speller. She was second place in the 1960’s in the Dallas Morning News Spelling Bee. Thus, I was not permitted to get away with any kind of nonsense when it came to spelling. I hope you enjoy this little post, and if you know of others please post.

  1. Sillynus (it really is)
  2. Programed (guessing you don’t work with computers)
  3. Defiantly (definitely an anger management problem)
  4. Wench (you’re not pulling your weight)
  5. Axel (maybe you should stick to figure skating)
  6. Piece of mind (literally 🙄)
  7. Visable (🤔 not anything to do with Visa)
  8. Lose for loose (you’re killing me. These don’t even sound the same)
  9. Steal or steel (metal and theft are not even remotely the same. Don’t let the chiastic order confuse which is which)
  10. Staired (well, I hope you didn’t fall down them)
  11. Break or brake (if you don’t have the latter you’ll probably have the former)
  12. There or their (point or just own it, but don’t confuse these)
  13. Sale or sell (nouns and verbs matter, don’t sale it)
  14. Expresso machine (you must be a guy)
  15. Quiet or quite (extremely different. Please shut up)
  16. Websight (WTH?!)
  17. Your and You’re (you’re probably NOT qualified)
  18. It’s and it’s (see, your phone doesn’t know the difference, so if it’s smart, you’re just as smart)
  19. Alot (you will see this one ‘a lot’)

You know what I've been collecting for years and years as the forum admin? People who use excessive punctuation and improper use of capital letters.

I see people tying things like this............ or even this!?!?!?!?! or sometimes things like !!!

And then there are people who write thread titles like this:

what is the Biggest size Tire i can Fit on my jeep Wrangler???

All this to say people are either lazy, uneducated, or both.

I spend a decent amount of time each day editing posts.

I can overlook a few mispelt words here and there but I really struggle trying to help folks that do this.

Me either my buddy swears by the thing lol so i guess ill give it a shot and if that dont work im gonna try wranglerfix probably. All i did was change plugs and coil pack and the cranlshaft pos sensor and went to start it and itll crank just wont start The part i have coming is basically a new pcm thats preprogrammed without the skim system in it its a plug and play all i have to do is disconnect neg battery cable unplug the immobilizer and plug in the pcm and it should bypass the skim alltogether so in the future it wont mess up anymore only downside to it that i seen is the light will stay on in the dash but i can live with that and just pull the bulb out of the cluster as long as i get movin again I was just watching a video on that im gonna check all that in the morning the way i understand it is when i unplug the shorted sensor with the key on i should be able to hear the fuel pump kick on because it will return to the 5 volts once the short is disconnected and my OBD reader that i have should communicate with the computer again then i just have to trace to where the short is located and do some operating lol

I don't need English major quality but can we just try a bit, just a little?

Every since you mentioned the capitol letter thingy, I've made sure to add a few just to keep you on your toes. ;)

My next collection is common grammar mistakes. I make them too, so I’m not too uppity about it, but my goodnes some of these posts are just severely bad.

EDIT: see above for an example.

Holy run on sentence

Sometimes mis-spellings can be to your advantage when buying stuff. When I was looking for a sheet metal brake I found them under brake and break both. I bought a Ford breakout box on ebay for $25, a fraction of what it should have cost because the seller spelled "enhanced" wrong and nobody was finding it to bid on.

I’m trying to see who’s paying attention. Did you see the title of the thread? I’m really hoping.

Oh yeah I'm paying attention. I love trying to catch people misspelling after complaining about spelling is all. I am sure I've been too lazy to correct a bunch of mine so I can't say much

I make them all the time. This is more than that however. This is people who come across as idiots since their spelling and grammar is far from just a mistake or two. It gives the appearance of being uneducated I suppose.

So much satisfaction is running through my veins write now.

You just reminded me of another pet peeve: no paragraph breaks.

It hurts my head when I try to read these long posts without a single paragraph break.
